Cozy Bedroom in Birmingham City Centre

Location is very good

Accommodation was dirty. There was a bottle of half drank water left in the room fridge and food stains on the shelves,so it was not cleaned from previous guests. The mirror was that dirty you could write on it. The blinds were ill fitted, so they didn't block out the sun. Two of us were staying but there was only one towel, not that we used the bathroom, it was filthy, grime behind sink tap, obviously built up for some time, mould on tiles and in general need of an upgrade. The kitchen had "do not use" stickers on the cupboards, and the freezer door had fallen off. We didn't know if this was due to something electrical, so we didn't use it. The flat had a strong curry smell

Location in city centre was good.

It was filthy. Carpets not hoovered. Bed sheets looked slept in. Bathroom filthy. It was posted as entire place to yourself, including bedroom and bathroom. It isn’t even en suite and has all shared facilities.

The host was helpful, providing instructions and contact that was isegul. Central location was ideal for my event.

I hate to write negatively, but I was disappointed that it wasn't made clear that this was someone's home. Yes, I was sent a message to be told it was a shared apartment, but I had interpreted this as an apartment with a shared social and cooking space and bathroom with multiple rooms to rent like a hostel. I felt very uncomfortable being in someone else's home when they clearly live there. Whilst the communication from the host was good, the entire building is covered in scaffolding, making it look really unappealing, and I wasn't actually sure how to enter to start with. The general hall areas are really run down with badly stained carpets, making for a very unwelcoming first impression. The apartment is labelled 'cosy' and on a really warm day (which it was), it was roasting hot. Also, my immediate impression was how strong the smell of cooking was and it seems to have permeated the whole flat. It was very off-putting. The first thing I did was open the bedroom window - though I wouldn't have been able to leave it open due to the noise level at night. Whilst the bedroom was clean, everything seemed a bit tired. The bedding was mediocre, the blinds were broken, there was no TV, and the furniture was basic. The towels provided were clean but quite small, a bath sheet would be better. The bathroom was run down, with grouting and tiles stained and looking dirty. I didn't even venture into the kitchen and the giant plastic curtain that blocked off a sitting area made the whole space dark and uninviting. Basically, I felt so uncomfortable there thsy I left before 7am the next morning. It pains me to be negative about somewhere, but I didn't enjoy my stay at all and can't recommend it in its current condition.

Great having access to a kitchen but could do with some more items to cook with.

Location was just perfect ,room was nice and cozy enjoyed our stay will definitely be returning again the owners were very helpful and helped me with directions and getting in.

We would not stay again. Firstly, the positives were that location was fab (could literally be out the door and on a train in 5 mins) and the host did send very detailed instructions of how to access the property. The actual room had a comfy bed, but the rest of the property was disappointing. The whole place felt really unclean, and there was a strange smell throughout the whole property, meaning we had to buy room spray for our room. The place was unclean, with lots of mould in the bathroom (pictures included). Tried to spend as little time as possible in the room, was fine to sleep in but not much else. We understand that this was a very cheap property so didn’t want to complain too much, and if you’re purely looking for cheap and good location then this is great, but if you care at all about cleanliness and smell, I’d look elsewhere. The host did seem really nice from the Whatsapp exchange though. If the whole property had a bit of a deep clean it would definitely be worth it for the price and location!
