Camping Pods Silver Sands Holiday Park

Fabulous location, beach was amazing and very clean. The pod was well situated.

Upon our arrival shortly after 5pm, we found that the reception was closed and the door was secure. Our booking indicated check-in from 4pm, so we were somewhat surprised to find no-one available. Fortunately, the adjacent sales office was still open, and the staff member there was exceptionally helpful and courteous. My booking reference did not match the record they had, though all other details were correct, so we were eventually able to check in. It appears that the information I provided on Booking.com was not communicated to the holiday park, but they managed to resolve the issue. The weather was exceptionally warm upon our arrival, and we quickly noticed that only one window in the pod could be opened. The small window above the bunk bed was fixed shut and lacked an air vent. As we were travelling with two assistance dogs, we could not leave the door open overnight for ventilation. This, combined with the 13.5 tog bedding, made the pod very hot and stuffy. The mattresses were quite uncomfortable, and I was quite sore after the stay, we only stayed for two nights. We attempted to dine at the on-site restaurant upon arrival, but the noise from the children’s entertainment and the multiple speakers in the vicinity made it intolerable. Consequently, we chose not to revisit the restaurant during our stay, which was unfortunate, as we would have liked to support the park’s amenities. The toilet block was a good concept; however, it requires a thorough cleaning with bleach or mould spray, as the interior of the shower cubicle showed significant mould and black staining. The external water supply was very hot, whereas the shower inside delivered only lukewarm water, which was very disappointing given the good water pressure. On our final day, whilst packing to leave, we discovered a large puddle of water on the floor at the foot of the double bed. There had been a lot of rain and thunderstorms the night previously.

Cosy pods with comfortable beds and very clean. Will stay here again. Within easy reach of the beach.

Lack of fridgeto store food or kettle to make drinks. This would be much better for guests.

We were away each morning before breakfast, but the bar and Restraunt were good. Fair choice and the beers were good.

Location 10/10 Quiet big beach, holiday park was like many others, but good facilities and pool.

Clean room, clean toilet and shower. Bedding was provided. My family and I enjoyed staying in the pod.

Didn't like anything. Overpriced for just a bed!

No cooking facilities. Not even a kettle to boil water for a hot beverage.

Good location

This place is not safe for solo female travellers or children. A caravan delivery driver was wandering around the park at 6/7am and when I came out my private bathroom to get a towel he ran in and locked himself in and wouldn’t get out for 20 minutes despite me shouting and banging on the door. He also destroyed the toilet, so I was late for work and couldn’t use my own facilities that I had paid for. I complained and the reception blamed me because I hadn’t locked the bathroom (I walked out and into my pod and came back out and he had ran in - it was 20 seconds), and then said it was a ‘misunderstanding’ on the drivers part - even though I clearly explained that I was banging on the door asking him to get out and he was telling me to F off. He then aggressively confronted me when he came out. I asked for a refund of that nights stay and was told no because he wasn’t their staff (even though he was delivering a caravan for them) and blamed me for not locking the door for the 20 seconds it took me to walk out, grab my towel and walk back. He also used my products and khiels face soap, so everything had to get binned. All i got offered after numerous complaints was a food voucher.
