Sir Andrew Murray House

The hosts are so accommodating and lovely! We had come up to Scotland to flower my best friends’ wedding and we were allowed to use a whole room in the property to store our flowers and start creating the designs for the wedding. The bedrooms were comfortable and cosy, and the bathroom and kitchen were clean with good amenities. We would 100% recommend this property and should we find ourselves back in the area we will definitely stay again.

Clean accom. Well-appointed self catering kitchen. Helpful hosts. Cute dogs. Quiet.

The bedroom (fire door) and bathroom doors are next on the maintenance list. As neither closed or locked sufficiently easily. Heating and hot water switched off, no heater in our room on arrival. Hot water switched on later - immersion switch. Twin beds narrow and not very comfy.

It was a good location. It was clean. A space heater was provided which we used. The host was friendly and provided a tour on arrival. He was available if needed.

The door to our room could not be closed or locked possibly due to warping though we were provided with its key. The shared bathroom door could be closed with force and locked and required force to open as well. The bed was fair as far as comfort. We had to rearrange the two overlarge chairs in our room to fully open the room door.

Great room and facilities. Got to use the washer and dryer to continue on my hike with clean clothes.

Quiet, comfortable, kitchen facilities which was useful as nowhere to eat in village as pub closed.

It didn’t have its own entrance but that wasn’t a problem.

Helpfulness of owner. Extra sitting space outwith room. Fully equipped kitchen. Range of extras in bathroom including a very thoughtful first aid kit.

Local eateries limited and variable in opening times.

Nice guy who ran the place. Really in the middle of nowhere Scotland but that was OK we just needed beds and to be fed.

thought I was getting twin beds and got a double. not happy with that.

Excellent location, parking available, clean rooms, friendly host.

A small heater sufficed for the bedroom but the rest of the property was cold (Scotland at the end of September, heavy rain and wind... to be expected but central heating wasn't on). This made having a shower uncomfortable... would have loved a bath but there was no hot water either other than the electric shower, I had to use the kettle to wash the dishes. Also, make sure you know how to get the exact location of the property as there's no signal at all when you reach the area.
