Rinn Kyoto Yasaka South

Check-in was at Rinn Kyoto Station (which is a hotel) a short walk from Kyoto station. We arrived in Kyoto early so we left our suitcases at Rinn Kyoto Station and explored Kyoto. Our suitcases were sent to the accommodation and we went there ourselves later in the day. The accommodation location couldn't be better. Very close to the Yasaka Shrine (which is a different / better experience at night) and Shijo-dori street. Two bedrooms albeit small were ok for two people in each. Mattresses were comfortable. Separate toilet. Shower was very good. We used the dining room for our suitcases as we ate out all the time. Kitchen area again small but ok for what we needed, which was really to make tea / coffee in the morning. There is a VERY small garden area which also provides a pleasant view.

Nothing really as we booked this knowing it would be a different experience.

Incredible service and the facilities were exceptional!

We wish the keys were at the property but the staff was incredibly kind in getting us to our destination once we had picked up the keys.

In one of the rooms there was a strange smell… nothing too offputting but constant and also this next part is par for the course with these style houses, you will be able to hear the neighbours a little because of the thin walls

Location couldn't be better. It's close many tourist destinations.

The rooms are very small and there is no space for hanging clothes.

Stuffy on 2nd floor, bathroom on the 1st floor, have to use stairs at night

Absolutely loved this traditional Japanese house! The location is perfect in the Gion district but all other areas easily accessed either by walking or hoping on a bus or metro. The house was lovely and warm after a long day walking, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was so beautiful and well stocked with lovely little items.

I would have liked the coffee pods refilled after a clean as we only had enough for one day. Minor complaint as everything else was amazing.

Other than cleanness, it was good.

We found dead cockroach in the closet. They could’ve cleaned it thoroughly. It seems dead long time ago
