Barong Bali Resort Ubud

Perfect for honeymoon or any special occasion! The staff will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience — a special thank you to Shakunta who helped me organize a surprise dinner for my husband’s birthday.

The resort is right next to the rice fields, so you’re out in nature, some frog sounds at night and insects, but no big problem.

The room was really nice, but I thought I was getting a different room to what I was given. So the info/photos on the website/booking.com is somewhat misleading.

The location was not great... The view was terrible and there is nothing in close proximity to the hotel. My room was located next to the restaurant/kitchen and it was very noisy from very early in the morning. I can understand sounds from nature like the frogs or crickets but staff members should be more considerate... Just a weird layout really... The breakfast was limited. The pizza was really bad and expensive... Just not many options on the menu. The room could do with a proper clean.. There was a mouse in the room that we could not get rid of.

The staff are extremely accomodating, friendly and willing to help you with anything you might need and which they have the power to fulfill. The area around the hotel is secluded and great for private evenings Food is good if a little slow in terms of service.

The beds are unfortunately uncomfortable and the rooms are dusty old and there are cob webs. You get a very eco-tourism vibe from it but its not what its sold as unfortunately. The private pool is very cold and most ppl wont use it I think. The location is very far from anything of note in Ubud area. So be prepared to be in a car if you want to do anything. As mentioned above the food is good but the breakfast options are limited to a lot of different egg dishes with extras. Fine for one night but limited in scope for multiple days.

Barong Bali is located in a quiet of Sebatu by the rice fields. In terms of location, It is a very short drive to the Rice Terraces of Tegallalang. Although it might appear that the villa is in the middle of no where, if you walk around the village, you’ll find convenience stores and a few restaurants dotted around. The property also has their own restaurant which served good food. Western, Thai and Indonesian. So you don’t really need to venture far. Since their resto is one of a few dotted around the area, better get there early because it can get packed and there’s usually a slow down in serving one’s order. Our villa was private and very cozy. Perfect for lovers and newlyweds. You’ll hear sounds of nature all day and all night. So bring ear plugs if night noises bother you. The property had amazing furniture and furnishings, I wish there was a gift shop that sold Balinese handicrafts in the hotel.

I would have hopped that the dipping pool could have had a heating option as I was very surprised on how cool the weather was in the area. The water was a little bit too cold for my liking. I would have loved to dip in warm water while it was raining. But this is just wishful thinking.

Size of the room, and staff

The cleanliness of the property, lot of bugs in the bathroom, rats 🐀 and lizards rooming around the property, table for the restaurant were so dirty and sticky. Bed shits were damaged most of the time. Doors don't close properly and damaged.

Everything is amazing. The hotel room, pool, staff and all facilities are amazing.

The food in the restaurant is mid and the place is a bit deep from the main downtown Ubud.

The staff was very friendly

My villa was very dirty. Specifically the toilet and floors.
