The location was incredible, very close to the sights of Palermo and right around the corner from a Lidl. It was very easy to check in and the owner was easily reachable.

We stayed in the orange apartment, it was wonderful and was like on the photos on booking.com. The location is really perfect, right in the heart of Palermo. Federico, the host, was very friendly and helpful!

The property was conveniently located near popular spots, and the owner was kind, offering recommendations for exploring Palermo. While the property itself was satisfactory, the real highlights of our stay were the experiences we had exploring outside the city.

I have serious concerns about the safety of the neighborhood surrounding this apartment. Upon arrival, I questioned the safety of the area, and unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed. On the first night, I witnessed someone heating and injecting drugs just three doors down from the apartment. Around the corner, we saw someone defecating on the street. By our third day, there was a violent altercation that resulted in someone being stabbed (or “gutted,” as the residents described) and rushed to the hospital. The local residents appeared deeply disturbed and understandably concerned. Adding to our discomfort, every time we parked the car, we were followed and shouted at by men asking for money. Despite our efforts to ignore them and walk away quickly, we felt incredibly uneasy and unsafe. The level of discomfort was overwhelming, making it nearly impossible to relax during our stay. The property itself was satisfactory and conveniently located near popular spots, but the surrounding area is undeniably unsafe. The bed was also incredibly uncomfortable, especially for side sleepers. It was so hard that my body couldn’t sink into the mattress, causing me to wake up with numb limbs. The owner is kind and provided recommendations for exploring Palermo, though we preferred exploring outside the city. However, my biggest frustration was the owner’s repeated assurances that the area was safe, attributing any concerns to it being a "multiethnic neighborhood." When I expressed concern over the violent altercation, his response was dismissive, saying, "It’s a multiethnic neighborhood; these things happen.” This excuse was used to downplay every serious issue we encountered, which is unacceptable.

3rd floor with no elevator (not well described). Cleanliness was not exceptional but the host was very nice and offered us to change room (we did not change as we already opened the luggages and wanted to visit the city - a mistake can happen).

Very friendly (remote) welcome by the host, smooth check-in with access codes. We received a fantastic list of recommendations (especially for food)! Also, the host promptly and very friendly replied to any of our queries. We especially liked the central location. Modern, remodelled and quiet apartment despite being in the busy old town.

Federico, the host, is an extremely nice and helpful man, always approachable and quick to reply. The apartment is quiet. There is a room for storing your luggage if you wish to stay after check-out. Two balconies. Supermarket nearby. Close to the train station and to the city centre.

The layout of the blue apartment (there are two, the other is yellow) takes some getting used to.
