Villa Thamburu, Bentota

Wundervolle Unterkunft mit erstklassigem Service! Wir haben die Villa Tumburu spontan nach dem Hochwasser als sichere Unterkunft gefunden und wurden sofort herzlich aufgenommen. Das Hotel ist elegant, durchdacht gestaltet und liegt traumhaft direkt am Meer. Die Zimmer und der Außenbereich sind wunderschön und laden zum Wohlfühlen ein. Der Service – ob am Empfang, im Restaurant oder am Pool – war durchgehend freundlich, aufmerksam und einfach hervorragend. Man fühlt sich hier wirklich wie zu Hause. Hotel und Gastronomie sind etwas teurer als anderswo, aber man bekommt erstklassigen Luxus und hohe Qualität. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut gerechtfertigt. Wir können die Villa Tumburu jedem empfehlen, der Ruhe, Stil und Top-Service sucht. Gerne wieder! Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland Florian & Maria

We loved everything about this place. The location is beautiful. The hotel is gorgeous. It's a boutique hotel so there weren't many guests. It was easy to find private areas around the grounds. The beach was very empty too. The room was spectacular. So beautiful and spacious. We loved having the private pool and outdoor shower. The indoor bathroom was marvelous as well. The whole place felt very luxurious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. All the food and drinks were delicious! We were really happy to stay here and would definitely return!

One of the BEST places we stayed in Sri Lanka - this boutique hotel is new but feels very authentic - the resteraunt was amazing - apart from lovely walks on the beach we didn't leave - the pool is lovely - the staff and service were super attentive. I cannot fault this lovely place at all - perfect - would go back and stay longer ! We chose to go straight to the airport from here rather than stay in Colombo - easy 1.5 hour drive - so location is perfect too

Thank you so much to all the staff for this unforgettable stay! Everything was amazing from start to finish. Everyone was so kind, polite, and always smiling — such lovely people! All our requests (even the extra ones 😅) were taken care of with pleasure. Service at the restaurant was always top-notch — special thanks to Rohan and all the waiters for their wonderful hospitality! The hotel itself is beautiful, and the whole area is spotless. The pool was cleaned every day, just like the beach area. Our room was made up daily with fresh towels and new bedsheets — super clean! The restaurant is honestly the best we’ve been to in Sri Lanka. Breakfast (included in the stay) was made with fresh ingredients and looked amazing. We especially loved the traditional Sri Lankan dishes. Dinner felt like a celebration every night — the menu is huge, and every single dish we tried was 10/10, especially the seafood! The chef always came by to check on us and have a nice chat — such a lovely touch. We were treated incredibly well for the whole week and honestly didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for exceptional service, aesthetic interiors, spotless cleanliness, and the most delicious food — you’ll truly enjoy the island to the fullest! ❤️

The only downside was that we came a bit off-season, so we couldn’t really swim in the ocean — but that’s obviously not the hotel’s fault 😅 And another “minus” — I came back home with +2 kg, because the food at the restaurant was way too good to resist 😂
