Villa Dahl Beach Resort

The beachfront is nice, but it’s not relaxing or very comfortable. The room was clean and large, with a comfortable bed and nice view.

The staff were very nervous, chasing us with bills, and it was irritating because then it took me half an hour to pay. Total chaos in reception. The pool needed more chemicals. Breakfast was appalling for the price of the room, as basic as it gets in any cheap guest house. It’s friendly, but totally misses the mark for the price. Having just stayed at a similar priced hotel in Paje, it was very disappointing.

Nice location, directly at the beach. Great to do long walks on the beach. Beach on the right is cleaner but on the left you get to an interesting place where trees grow in the ocean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with huge balcony facing the ocean.

Very long wait in the restaurant even though we were only customers. Food very average quality and quite expensive.

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Although it's just a short distance from the bustling city of Dar es Salaam, it felt like a peaceful oasis, offering a perfect escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. The serene atmosphere and lush surroundings made it feel like a home away from home. The staff were exceptional – incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Their warmth and hospitality truly stood out, and I felt like I was among friends throughout my stay. The food was absolutely fantastic, with a breakfast spread that was not only delicious but also varied and fresh. Every meal was a treat, and I looked forward to every dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with outstanding service and incredible food. It was truly an unforgettable experience!

It was a good experience. Beachfront villa, clean hotel rooms, friendly staff, Hawa at the front desk, was very helpful. Breakfast was fair. The only problem is that you need to wait for your ordered food for over an hour. We ended up cancelling our lunch after waiting for an hour and a half

The picture is misleading and far from reality. It’s not worthy the money. Did not like anything

1. The chef and receptionist should know English if it’s to serve international guests 2. The breakfast is nothing an egg an two small sausages Dinner is served cold and I had to pay for wrong orders done due to language challenges I had paid for 5 nights but had to stay two nights and moved to an upmarket hotel for the 3 remaining nights It was not well and I discourage family trip especially if a foreigner and not understand Swahili

Rooms were great! Balcony was much appreciated and room was cleaned very well. Nice to have a ceiling fan and AC. Front desk staff super friendly. Love a beach front property.

The restaurant service was not good. Waitress seemed upset to even be serving us. We often had to wait long and try to get attention for service even though it was not even busy at all. Many things on the menu were not available. No fresh fruit juice or seafood which in a beautiful coastal city like Dar es salaam should be available. We watched fisherman right in front on the beach sell fresh seafood to locals… yet there was none at the restaurant. The property grounds had trash around which can ruins the ambiance and feeling of being on holiday. Other guests were permitted to blast music and my father who was staying in the single bed room On the ground floor was bothered by the loud noise. Mind you we love music…

You can imagine, how nice it could be, but ...

For the price you have to pay here, you can expect that the pool is reserved for hotel guests, but instead it was populated by masses of locals who may enter for a comparatively cheap price. So when we arrived and the following days, the pool was filled with sometimes more than twenty children, most of them very young and the same number of adults, some of them entering the pool on the sweaty street wear they came with. Another 40 people occupied all chairs and the three (!) sunbeds at the pool, even they took the chairs from our terrace. We expected the small hotel to be a quiet and comfortable place: it was the opposite. The garden consist of a large bar full of tables and mostly uncomfortable chairs. Though there are no guests, they played music which mixed with the music from outside beach bars, the whole night, morning, and day. We had two rooms: the so called "deluxe single" was so small, no table, no chair, no place to put a suitcase. The windows faced the overpopulated, noisy pool. The second room, offered with garden view was facing the parking, you had the feeling you could touch the car parking in front of the window from the bed. The house has a few chairs in front of the fence on the beach, mostly populated by people who do not belong to the hotel. When we wanted a soda while sitting there, the waiter refused to hand anything over the fence, so we left and found cheap and good food nearby with very nice service on the beach. The beach is beautiful, but on the weekend extremely crowded and noisy. There is a small fish market right in front of the hotel on the beach, bring the smell of fish all the time into the premises. The breakfast was terrible, the filter coffee machine only a decoration, the only coffee available were a few remaining crumbs of cheap instant coffee. Let guests pay the price of a local guest house (10 euro per night), that is your standard, and you will not have complaints!

The giant towels, attention to detail when it comes to service, design of the resort and the beauty of surrounding nature. Hamisi, Nana, Khalid and the other waitress in the restaurant were amazing and everyone was really friendly and helpful
