"Far away but nice staff"

7.0

We stayed three nights in The Living Room, and the space was comfortable, with a spacious room and a private bathroom. Tessa was very helpful and responsive on WhatsApp, addressing any questions or requests we had.

The property has a total of five rooms, one of which is a shared dorm-style room for eight people. The walls are quite thin, so noise carries easily—you can even hear people coughing from other rooms. Being far from Tourism Rd also made it challenging to get around, as tuk-tuks don’t pass by frequently; renting a scooter is essential for convenience. Additionally, our room wasn’t cleaned during our four-day stay, so we didn’t receive fresh towels or housekeeping.

"Very good"

Tessa and the cleaning lady, sorry my bad i forget her name are wonderful. They go beyond to help with everything. The location is tucked away from the busy area, it is nice and quiet, but still close to everything. Just a short bike ride away from downtown.. My room was nice and spacious, good wifi and AC.

The bathroom could use a paint and some updates.

"I won’t recommend this place"

4.0

Helpful staff, nice common space

We are so disappointed about this place. We got the room with an only window to a common space, registration area, so the room was dark because we had to closed the curtains all the time to have a privacy. The bathroom is just a part partitioned from the bedroom (no ceiling) so there was no proper ventilation or sound isolation. The property has a lot of technical issues in three days (internet lost, electricity lost, water lost).

"I loved my stay in The Living Room Siargao!"

10.0

I stayed in The Living Room Siargao for 5 days and it exceeded my expectations. The place is nestled a few km from the Gen. Luna center, surrounded by trees and nature you will find the place very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. I even see fireflies from my window during the night! I like the ambiance of the common area, as somebody who works along with my travel, I always need a quiet place to spend a few hours of the day working before having fun. Aside from the fast internet connection, the common area has a perfect table where you can just sit work, and enjoy the peaceful vibe of being surrounded by nature. The room has a good air conditioning. The beds are not that cozy, but they are very comfortable to sleep in, and they are clean. The owner is very accommodating, and friendly! I honestly did not feel like I was there as a guest, I feel more at home because of their hospitality.

Although it is common in Siargao, the water supply can be intermittent. This could be inconvenient for travelers with greater hygiene needs. A helpful tip is to leave the faucet on if the water pressure is too weak to fill a bucket while you occupy yourself with other tasks. The toilet space is small, I accidentally hit the corners a few times.

"Ben and Phoebe's stay"

10.0

Thanks to Tessa, Chin and Norman we had a lovely stay. They were so friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile driving us to various places, letting us borrow bits and looking for items that we'd misplaced. One evening we even shared some drinks and food with Norman that had been kindly prepared by Tessa. Norman is a really interesting and kind man and it was great to get to know him a bit. We had a few blackouts during our stay but this was no surprise to us as it was well advertised that this is an issue on the island and it didn't affect our stay. Norman actually decided not to charge his guests for one of the nights we were there because the blackout was particularly long, I thought this was very generous of him as this is something out of his control.

Nothing.

"If not for Chin, the super nice and accommodating hotel manager, I would have switched hotels in the middle of my stay a"

3.0

I was impressed with the decor and the layout of the property which appeared like a huge living room of one’s vacation home.

Very nice property but I found out it was a little too far from the nearest restaurant which is on Tourism Road in the General Luna area. When it rained, which was a constant in Siargao in June, the side road leading to the hotel entrance flooded all the time. I had to ride a motorcycle or a tricycle to go through the flooded area or just have food delivered to the hotel because of this inconvenience. The hotel didn’t have a generator during power outages which happened 3 times during my stay there. One time it went on for many hours at night so there was no air conditioner. I got upset to find out that the hotel literally next door had a generator running and ours didn’t. Also, I was a bit surprised that for 6 of my 7 days stay in that hotel, I was the only guest. At night, the lobby and the bar lights were not fully turned on so it was dark unlike the ads they posted online. It seemed they weren’t making money so I can see the overhead cost cutting measures.
