Tranquil Riverfront Oasis at High Bridge Court

The property was very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. Loved the gas stove and wine fridge! Great to have two modern, en suite bathrooms with great showers (and lovely toiletries) as well as a downstairs WC. The beds were very comfortable and we felt 100% at home. Bit of an awkward turn out onto the main road, but otherwise an excellent location to enjoy Knaresborough (a short walk - albeit uphill - to see the town) and to explore North Yorkshire. Fantastic to have dedicated parking.

Although we loved the property and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again, I think ‘tranquil’ is a bit of a misrepresentation, given its location just off the main road, right next to a key riverfront tourist attraction and across a lane from a pub that has outdoor seating and live music (presumably only in the summer). All that being said, the buzz, busy-ness and noise did not spoil our stay - and the pub closed at a reasonable hour and at no time did its patrons cause any unreasonable disturbance. Minor point: some maintenance issues - such as coffee machine inoperable because it needed to be descaled; and freezer needed defrosting.

Consider installing a grab bar for bath, it was very high.

The interior layout was nice. Plenty of room. Nice having 2 bathrooms upstairs but only able to use one as one bathroom had fixed overhead shower which we don't like.

We had a 7 hour journey to get to this place. En route, the host sent me the key code and also asked if I'd mind if an electrician popped in on Monday during our stay in order to work on ceiling spotlights. I said no to this yet hosts did not respond which left me very anxious. I was concerned a workman was going to enter the property at some point. So, this rankled before we'd even arrived at the property. It was clear the hosts were not prioritizing our confort or privacy. Entry to the accommodation car park was ridiculously narrow. We had a large SUV and I was terrified of going through the automatic gates as I risked scratching car. Once the gates started closing on me as I was still going through! Behind the property is a noisy pub, a busy road and a pedestrian crossing. We arrived on a Saturday evening and there was loud music blasting from the pub. This happened again on Sunday evening. With my bedroom window open, I could hear the pub's customers laughing and talking. Throughout the night I could gear the beep of the pedestrian crossing. Throughout the week, the neighbours were doing renovation work. We could hear the bang bang of carpets being fitted on the Monday and sanding machine rest of week. When they were painting, they played loud music the whole time! This is not a "tranquil" oasis as advertised. Also, the sheets didn't smell fresh and the place was not spotless. We found dirty crockery in cupboard, toilet was full of limescale!, it was dusty, my daughter found hairs on the mattress protector! We were left with a hoover we couldn't use. It was absolutely filthy.

location is perfect for what we wanted

The propery is a little tired and needs decorating (and the pile of wires in the corner sorting or hiding). The listing should make it explicitly clear that the single room does NOT have access to a bathroom as they are ensuite to the other two rooms. The property is NOT tranquil as it is opposite a pub (whose beer garden is level witrh the bedrooms) and by a busy road. This wasn;t an issueto us as I knew the loction before booking.

This is a very clean, quiet, well equipped and spacious property is centrally located on the banks of the River Nidd. It is less than five minutes walk to the station, so also ideal if you want to visit York or Harrogate by train. We had a lovely time here in the run-up to Christmas and would happily have stayed longer.
