La Plage Seaview Suites

Location is great. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. The staff was friendly and very attentive. There is a nice coffee shop on the ground floor. One needs to be aware though that there is no 24h food/room service in this property.

I understand that the property is new and opened only in mid 2024. The room was nice and spacious but I would add some shelves in the bathroom for personal toiletries. Also place for clothes hanging could be improved (I had to ask for cloth hangers as there were none when I arrived). There was also issue with AC which had automatic switch off set up - this made the room temperature uncomfortably high at night as well as after 9AM. Also, while there is restaurant on the 2nd floor of the hotel, we had to specially request for the breakfast to be served there. Otherwise breakfast is served in the room (where there is no comfortable place to have a meal), which was not our preference, especially in location with great view. Those issues can be easily addressed to improve comfort of guests. The location is great.

Breakfast was good variety and served in the room. It was all freshly cooked and cut. Location was good since it is bang on the promenade. They have upgraded the rooms, so it is very clean with digital entry and a smart TV. The staff is really nice with good service.

The rooms were tiny with no wardrobe. You have to almost jump from the door to the bed. The rooms on the ground floor are on the back with no window and very small and claustrophobic, and of course no balcony. I lost the digital card for the room and they don't have a process to issue a new one even for a fee. Every time I had to ask someone to open the door. I paid 7k per room, for this price you will get a room in the best hotels in Pondicherry. This room is worth max 3k but may be 4-5k just because it's on the promenade. I will rate this hotel as 1 star, only the rooms on the first floor have sea view and worth 5k, there are only 2 such rooms even though this is called sea view suites.
