Gili Rose Private Villa

Staff could not fault they are great! Location is walking distance to the beach front.

Sheets on the bed was dirty. ( in both rooms) cockroach’s in both bathrooms. (More than just 1) Power went out at 2:30am and never turned back on for us, was told it was “ whole island outage, will be back on soon” went outside to discover our neighbours had power. Went for breakfast they had power… Pool was filthy inside. Had a water issue also but that’s was easy fixed with a hose. If you don’t like being woken up by goats and roosters then you won’t like the location. Just really disappointed.

Great location, and very private. The room is very nice and the bed very comfortable. The kitchenette is handy and the hosts kindly left some food.

We were disappointed that there wasn't any cleaning services - we had to ask for fresh towels. While the host met us after 3 days and said to ask for anything we need, I don't expect to have to ask to have the bins emptied! This could be improved for people staying for 2+ days. It was kind to leave the food for us however some of the food was semi consumed packets and therefore we didn't realise it was for us (the host told us after 3 days).

It was Nice to have two small houses/bedrooms and we were very lucky to meet the owner at the place the very first day and a couple of times during our stay. He and all his staff was so kindly and helpfull and will at anytime do anything to make our stay Perfect. We Can truely recomand a stay at Gili Rose.

Previous reviews already mention many of the issues that we had and I urge the owner/manager to read the negative reviews and address the issues. We were travelling around Indonesia for a month and stayed in many properties. This was one of the most expensive and the most disappointing. This villa could be wonderful but there are issues to be addressed. Facilities broken (toilet seat in 1 bathroom, whole toilet in the other, tile missing in shower, door handle missing, pool empties so need to fill up with the hose, toilet role holder broken, sink leaked, sliding doors difficult to use). These were reported. Power went off in the middle of one night due to the management not paying the electricity bill. They apologised. Breakfast is not provided as described. 2 slices of bread left in the fridge for 4 people for 4 nights. They did provide milk, tea, coffee and eggs. There was opened juice, butter, flour and sugar in the fridge. The fridge and crockery were dirty. We decided to eat out instead and didn’t mention this to the staff or management as we prefer to eat out anyway. Bikes provided as described but we were asked to pay for them despite the description saying they were free. The owner agreed not to charge in the end but we were contacted several times after leaving to say we owed the bike hire money and that the owner wouldn’t pay. Very noisy goats, ducks and roosters right in front of the property. Noise started at 1am and continued throughout the night. Bring ear plugs. Cockroaches in the bedroom by the pool (over 10 in 4 days). We weren’t particularly bothered and dealt with them ourselves. Something to consider if you don’t like bugs. The description of the property, provisions and price should reflect reality. Don’t say you provide breakfast or bikes, for starters. It won’t put people off. Fix the broken fittings and fixtures and make sure you pay the bills.

Villa is lovely, situated in the middle so out of the hustle and bustle but easily walkable/bike to both sides of the island! Staff were attentive, at hand if needed and helped us secure bikes when we first arrived for a good price. Rooms were very comfy.

Pool did keep draining overnight but staff came to fill it everyday. The showers were cold and water pressure was not good. But there was a water shortage during this time so maybe this is why?

Lovely, quiet property in a good location. Pool was nice, breakfast provided in the fridge was a nice touch also. Smart tv in both bedrooms was also great and WiFi connection good.

Very spacious private Villa. Great location, amazing and very attentive staff.
