Sunset Beach Resort Weh

This accommodation was our little corner of paradise on Pulau Weh, I can highly recommend staying here for anyone who is looking for an island retreat. Putra, the owner, is incredibly friendly and will help you with anything you need, from transportation to and from the hotel, laundry, arranging tours, giving you tips etc. You can rent a scooter to easily explore the island or snorkeling equipment for the house reef and the restaurant offers great food for all three meals if you don't feel like leaving your little private beach for the day. The bungalows are spacious and well-equipped, including air conditioning. The outdoors area is beautifully kept and clean. There are only 5 bungalows in total, so it feels very private and personal.

Because it's that pretty, the café is a bit of a social-media-famous attraction. We didn't mind very much, but you will find a couple of TikTokers or Instagrammers frequenting the restaurant area in the evenings. Free entertainment, if you will ;)

Probably among the nicest bungalows in Weh Island with modern and comfortable amenities. Staff was nice and helpful and the restaurant was good! Location is not a negative as the resort is beautiful and the beach is nice, but be aware that this is far away from the typical “touristy” areas.

No Wifi, with the bad 4G connectivity making it hard to plan ahead.

Dear Sunset Beach Resort Team, Thank you for the unforgettable stay! Your resort is an absolute dream – right on the beach, beautifully kept, and full of charm. The rooms were spotless and decorated with so much love. You, along with lovely Lulu, made us feel truly welcome. The food was delicious, and the dolphin tour was magical – we saw so many! We’ll definitely be back and will recommend your place to everyone we know.

This place is a gem! We’re so happy we had the chance to meet Sarka and Putra—such great people. They’re doing an amazing job with their beautiful resort, and it really shows. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back someday!

The privacy as only guests can access our accomodation area

Overall, the staff was not friendly. We rented a scooter from the resort but they did not follow 24hours as other rental vendor. We are still okay with it. However, they did not mentioned that we need to return the scooter before 8pm on the second day, and only informed us at 7:34pm. We told them that we just arrived at Sabang town for dinner and the distance to go back to resort from Sabang town would take 40minutes. But they just dont care and asked us to pay extra for it. Extremely bad service. The resort doesnt have wifi during our stay as they told us that the wifi doesnt work, and there is no signal or connection at all. If you really want to be disconnected with the world, then this place is for you.

Sunset Beach Resort is such a fantastic place, I can highly recommend it to those seeking a quiet, secluded space for relaxing. They have a private beach with 5 bungalows only. The room is spacious, well-equipped and clean with it’s own porch overlooking the water. The restaurant offerings are wonderfully fresh and the coffee is great. You can snorkel in the bay, rent a scooter or ask them to arrange a diving excursion for you. Lovely service, attention to detail and of course, the prettiest sunsets!

Despite the handicap of my father (on wheelchair), thanks to the great service of all of you with professionalism, we had an unforgettable stay at Sunset Beach Resort Weh. The environment here is very cosy, serene and calm. The meals were great, especially the vegetable and herbs nasi goreng (fried rice) is a MUST EAT dish at Sunset Beach Resort Weh. The view is amazingly spectacular, especially at sunset! Conclusion: Great, great, great place for holidays! Thanks again and again! Henry.
