Sunset Beach Resort Weh

Location (isolated), the resort beach (although you’ll need reef shoes), good food (although quite pricey)

Apart from the female owner, who was quite nice and helpful, the rest of the staff could certainly be a bit more attentive to costumers, especially given the fact that it is at the moment a 5 room isolated resort. We even felt not welcomed and not liked by some of the staff, for some unknown reason. You have to ‘chase’ them for certain amenities (scooter, skuba diving material, planning…), they are not very attentive to the customer in general, and sometimes even a bit rude.

Very nice and friendly hosts, private beach, great bungalow with sea view and beautiful interior, restaurant with delicious breakfast and food - we felt relaxed right from the beginning and this was the perfect end of our Sumatra family holiday with our 2 kids and the best accomodation during 3 weeks of traveling. If you are looking for a hidden gem away from the hustle (but you can still go for diving a 30 min drive away and have a beautiful house reef just in front) - this is your place! By the way, having rather weak wifi is not a problem at all - the hosts plan and organize everything for you and the digital detox felt like part of the relaxation (otherwisr, you can also buy a prepaid card if needed at low cost). We highly recommend Sunset Beach Resort!!!

Everything The place is just paradise The bungalows are amazing and the beach is to die for Putra and Sharka and their team are incredible hosts and cannot do enough for you even arranging taxis either side of the boat across Snorkelling is amazing and the food is very reasonable and great choice This is the ultimate place to come and relax with our without children My kids adored the place

Sharka and Putra, the owners, are one of the most welcoming people we have ever met. Their kindness and patience with our 3 kids was sooo heart warming! Their puppy, Lulu, was the main attraction for our kids. The whole resort was established by so much passion for local handcraft and an eye for interior design. Food and drinks were excellent! They were also giving us lots of information on culture and history. The beach was beautiful as well, snorkeled a couple of times but don't exspect white sand and azur blue water. The water is very clear but due to the rocks in the water not as reflecting as on other beaches - but loved beach and water there! The bungalows are very comfy and nicely furnished. We had two scooters to get around (diving, Jaboi Vulcano etc). We had a beautiful and relaxing week and would love to come back😃

The owners - Charka and Putra! I miss you already! And Lou Lou the resident doggie- miss you too. The beach was idyllic and nothing beats sleeping to the sound of waves at your doorstep. Everything was so well organised for us and this is just a fantastic place.

Nothing at all. It is a bit far away from “civilisation” if you don’t rent a scooter, but if you want to unwind, relax and enjoy beautiful nature this is the place to choose. Also, if you are reliant on wifi for your work the service can be sporadic although it worked enough to sort transport, visas etc.

We loved it here. Super friendly helpful hosts. Beautiful spot, away from the crowds. Virtually a private beach. We had brilliant snorkeling. Would have stayed another 2 nights, but they were booked out. We had rental scooter so could go out and about and they hire one if needed. Wonderful small guesthouse with very private villas and view from every villa straight out to the ocean. Each with private balcony, and loungers on coastline for each villa. Also home to the beautiful Lulu dog. Highly recommend, lovely courtyard like eating and drinks area. Thank you Putra and Sharka

Loved it all

We had a lovely stay at Sunset Beach Resort. As non-divers, we were looking for a relaxed but comfortable place to stay on the island. Though a little bit away from some other, apparently 'happening' places of the island, we thought it was still the best place to stay. We loved the overall aesthetics of the resort - quite unique and fresh compared to other places on the island - and how easy it was to get everything we needed: from transport to tips about activities, not just locally, but also on the mainland. We loved the variety of food and drink options offered on site - prepared with much love and attention as well as other local restaurant recommendations we were given. The patchy WiFi did not bother us as we wanted to disconnect and relax. The owners are very attentive and inspiring people who clearly put a lot of effort into making their guests' stay as hassle-free as possible. We loved just being able to slow down and hang out, read our books , watch the ocean and play with the resident puppy. A fab stay for couples, friends but even for solo travellers who are looking to unwind. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to be back!

Everything was great! Purrs and Sarka are a lovely couple who have done a great job of setting up and running the place. So many thoughtful touches and care has gone into the bungalows and the menu etc The food was great and a welcome change as a vegetarian. Great G&T as well

The WiFi was a bit patchy at times but then it’s pretty remote and to be expected

Remote location (while everything is reachable by scooter within 20-30 minutes), amazing food prepared with lots of love, hospitality of owners and staff

We had a great stay at Sunset Beach. The room was modern, spacious and clean. There is a lovely area in front of the room to relax in with beautiful views of the sea. There are only two rooms and the bar area doesn’t open to the public until late afternoon so we had the beach to ourselves during the day, it was very peaceful and relaxing. There is some good snorkelling off the beach when the tide is high. The food and coffee were also delicious! And lastly, the owners and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Only small things to make what is already a great resort better - it would be nice to have breakfast included in the price and the check in/out process and general welcome/introduction to the place could be a bit smoother.
