Everything from the minute you walk in the door,very friendly,rooms very well kept, clean and comfortable,and food was spot on

Nothing to dislike

It looked good but sadly a double booking clash with two big weddings (I was the sole guest staying there for a third wedding), meant I arrived to find out I was accommodated in different emergency lodging in next village. While grateful for a roof over my head (quiet, comfy, good bed and bathroom, secure) , and the promise of a complementary breakfast the next morning back at the hotel as a gesture to compensate for the inconvenience, it wasn’t the experience I’d hoped for.

Sadly, no wifi code or remote for the tv (or hairdryer) in the apartment I ended up in. Although the helpful hotel male staff member had given me a mobile number, I didn’t feel I could disturb him for that at 3:30 in the morning (which was when I discovered it, having insomnia and hoping for a little distraction). Also as it was more of a private apartment, I had to drive back to the hotel the next morning to have breakfast (and return the key). One of The female waiting staff then told me I had to wait to be served as they were busy with two other tables- presumably the same other wedding guests who were collectively more important than me and for whom I had been “bumped” following the overbooking. I said I’d sit outside but was clearly forgotten about and gave up waiting. Very sad as I had eaten there before and previously had a lovely meal. As a solo traveller I just wasn’t as important a customer as an entire wedding party. A business reality I guess. Shame.

The location ideal for us with lovely aspect. The food was excellent and the staff friendly especially waitress, the English one, at lunchtime.

Lovely clean, fresh, modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Well stocked brew facilities. Cracking breakfast. Nice modern but traditional country style pub. Good value for money.

Very, very minor points which wouldn't stop us from booking again but for consideration... Room was on the warmer side but not overly uncomfortable, didn't notice the fan in the store cupboard until the morning as we're late arrivals after a wedding. Not a lot nearby but served the purpose of what we needed it for. The metal outside staircase was a bit of a concern with our older parents but we managed fine

Staff were lovely

Our bathroom smelt strongly of sewage to the point my friend couldn't use the shower and suffered a poorly stomach on the journey home due to the food the night before
