Fuego Atitlan Eco-Hotel

Super uniek verblijf in het kleine San Marcos. Het was magisch om wakker te worden vanuit je bed met een zonsopgang en uitzicht over het meer. De managers zijn super lief, ze hadden zelfs een lavacakeje gemaakt voor de verjaardag van mn vriend. De faciliteiten zijn goed en het ontbijt wat bij je tent wordt bezorgd elke ochtend is ook uitgebreid en super lekker.

Unglaubliche Aussicht, gut ausgestattete Jurten, leckeres Frühstück zur Jurte serviert. Alles war saubenr und das Personal sehr freundlich.

Je nachdem, wo die Jurte liegt, kann der Weg zum WC weit sein, was ich vor allem in der Nacht etwas unangenehm fand.

Ultimately it was just very expensive for very basic accommodation. This was our one accommodation splurge and was double what we paid anywhere else and left much to be desired. There were lots of small details not considered for the price which we had pretty much everywhere else we stayed. There were 2 showers between 5 yurts so we did have to wait for showers on a couple of occasions. Our yurt was 100 steps to the shower. 2/5 showers were cold No shelving in the shower so stuff on the floor or balanced on the door, an item of which fell off and was lost. Only one pillow each Not enough bedding so cold every night Was very noisy from the road and town which made it hard to sleep Drinking Water in our room not changed daily and ran out The face towel to dry your hands on not changed Half filled soap Spiders and ants in the room Asked to carry down the breakfast tray ourselves, again down 100 steps No hand railing for a lot of the steps which felt unsafe. Breakfast was really good but for the amount you pay for the room it should be included. The scenery and staff were great but given the price we assumed these small details would be seen to as part of the price, we stayed in several hotels over our stay, all half the price of here and they felt much much better value. On a side note, San marcos had a very odd energy with most of the shops and restaurants owned by non locals, a lot of whom were not that friendly and it felt as though there was a disconnect within the community. If you are looking to stay somewhere that is supporting local Mayan communities this is not that place.

Es una zona donde baja mucho la temperatura en la noche, podrían suministrar más mantas, lo cual podría mejorar la experiencia.

La vista, la paz que se respira en ese lugar es increíble.

Que no hayan opciones de recojo al llegar a san marcos, seria mucho mas sencillo para que uno pueda llegar y salir de ahi como un móvil del mismo lugar. Solo ofrecían el almuerzo y cena (tipo delivery) de un restaurante, tal vez si tuvieran mayores opciones.
