Ghar Homestay, Kotagiri

Paradise on earth. Visited this place with my husband and pet Yorkie and stayed for 2 days. The place is truely breathtaking and the rooms have a rustic old aesthetic which goes well with the view from our window . They have provided all amenities including heater and a water kettle if you ever need to have a hot cup of tea or coffee. My pet was the happiest as he could roam freely in the property. Alok was welcoming, friendly also ensured we arrived safely and went above and beyond To ensure an awesome stay He also accommodated all our request. Such a sweet host. The caretaker (Simon) was friendly ,understanding and just a call away.He prepared delicious meals during the course of our stay. The property is situated in a valley and has an amazing 360 degree scenic view facing the beautiful green pastures and the hills. The sunrise from the top balcony takes your breath away. A must visit if you are planning for a trip to Kottagiri. We'll be back for sure :)

One of the best homestays I have ever been to..Lush green meadows all around the property.. If you want to unplug and unwind in the greens..with home cooked food, great host, lovely pet friendly people around you..think no more and book right away to experience it yourself..☺️

The staff - Simon was very supportive. He also cooks great home food. The room - Well ventilated with a great view & super peaceful. They also kept a few good books to read at leisure. The location - It's on a tea estate but just 5 kms from the Kotagiri busstand. Check-in - They were flexible with early check-in with prior notice.

1) No wifi 2) We couldn't contact the property person until we reached there for any enquiries. 3) As there is only one person taking care of the entire place, you cannot expect room service. it is also good in a way - you get down to the sitout to have food/team

This location if for people who love serenity. Best for bird watching and enjoying pure nature. Anything outside the rooms. Housekeeper Simon was very supportive to his best.

Not worth the hype for the room. Rooms lack basic amenities. Property owners did not take a chance to ensure the basic needs of a homestay. Wifi was promised but actually not there. No place for keeping clothes or no cloth hanger. No mirror for dressing up. Bed is very basic.

Alok was a fantastic host and went beyond what is expected from a host to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The location of the house is so tranquil with beautiful views of the plantations and amongst the trees. The meals cooked by Leena were absolutely delicious and we managed to learn a whole lot watching her cook. We felt like family visiting here. Thanks Alok for a truly memorable stay.

Perfect place to rejuvenate yourself and connect with Nature. Must visit place if you planing a trip to Ooty and Coonoor. You will get to enjoy delicious breakfast and food . Overall loved the place and people and special shout out to Alok for wonderfull hospitality and help he offered in Trekking. Oh Don't forget to enjoy the bonfire

Everything is amazing

The property is located amidst tea estates and there is so much greenery around that your soul will be filled with peace and happiness as soon as you step in. You can hear the birds chirping in the early morning, which we miss staying in cities. There is also a small waterfall nearby which you can reach after a small trek, so make sure you bother your host Alok to take you there. Food was yum and homely. Overall the experience was beautiful. Therefore, do not hesitate to stay in this beautiful property in your next visit to Kotagiri!
