JOIVY Inviting Flat with Parking in Canonmills

Good location and provided free car park Kitchen, dining and lounge is open plan and was very roomy for 5 people to chat and relax. There was a lift to take our bags up to the apartment which was handy.

The size of the flat was great for 3 friends. The super king size bed in main bedroom was fab. Good to have 2 bathrooms, one with bath, other walk in shower. Good location for Leith Walk, lots of fab restaurants and trams/buses.

Check-in was misleading and took us nearly an hour to figure things out. No red/grey keysafe, as shown in picture, was all grey. When I rang, he insisted it was red/grey as in picture. Not true. The tag on keys said different number to flat, again confusing. The car parking fob was in the apartment, so nowhere to park the car until going into flat to find it, no instructions about where to find it. Car park fob was temperamental and took a while to work it. Eventually, the gate opened, no fob needed to open on way out, opens automatically. Let people know this. Radiator in double bedroom didn't work. Took ages to run the bath. No small pan, had to boil an egg in large stainless steel frying pan. No egg cups. Blinds didn't all open, broken. Need sorting. Bin in master bathroom had a very badly cracked lid. We were asked to take black bag of rubbish out to bins in car park at end of stay, couldn't find them. Bedrooms noisy with traffic and voices being over main entrance door. No good for light sleepers.

We were so happy to step into the rental, it was clean, bright and spacious. Our two boys each had their own room- which they loved, and there were two large bathrooms available as well. The kitchen was well stocked, with even a decent array of tea, instant coffee and a coffee press available. The check in instructions were great, the washing machine was a nice plus. The couch was a favorite chill spot in the evenings, and the table was a lovely spot to have breakfast & dinner at. We only used the public transit a few times, otherwise we walked, but it was close to the rental. It looks like the owner/manager has a lot of pride in the apartment. We recommend eating at Cilantro, Bodega and Ada- all were delicious, within a 5 minute walk, and had very friendly service.

Beyond the beds being a little hard for our liking we really loved the rental. I did contact the management team about the tiles on the floor of the shower - they had lost some grout and the water was seeping in, then seeping out of other gaps. The first bedroom window was also kinda broken/not closed properly because you could hear the traffic. I'd rent this apartment again, given the opportunity.

Location is amazingly central in Edinburgh. Very easy to walk to all local attractions as well as convenience stores and the tram. Huge plus in having a parking location available.

Wifi was very slow and kept dropping.

Beds are very comfortable. Plenty of towels provided. Location Ideal . our flight had been delayed but we didn't have to be there at a set time to collect keys as there were in a lockbox.

More chairs needed in the living room for 5 guests. Second couch would be better than the chairs.

Good location. Not too far, too, wallk to get to the city. Some nearby shops and bars.
