Heraklion Center Boutique 3 Bedroom Apartment Penelope

We have just had the most magnificent stay at Penelope- a wonderful 3 bedroom apartment with all amenities you could ask for. Much love and thought has gone into the presentation and the unique pieces of furniture are a delight to the eye. Location is brilliant with a short walk to all of the action that Heraklion offers. Communication with our hosts Yiannis and Thekla was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble if clarification was needed.

We loved the entire experience and are very much looking forward to our return visit at the end of the month.

I had the pleasure of renting this fantastic apartment last week, and I can't help but share my overwhelmingly positive experience. The cleanliness was impeccable, with gleaming floors, spotless surfaces, and fresh linens, all reflecting the owner's evident commitment to maintaining a pristine environment (5/5). The apartment's location in a vibrant neighborhood offered easy access to all amenities, from grocery stores to restaurants and public transportation, making it the ideal starting point for exploration (5/5). What truly stood out was the owner's warm and welcoming hospitality - they were readily available, provided excellent local recommendations, and added a personal touch to my visit (5/5). In conclusion, if you're looking for a clean, conveniently located apartment with a friendly owner, I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a memorable stay. It exceeded my expectations in every way!

Great location and really authentic, cozy feeling

The apartment has been newly renovated and is practically like a hotel in terms of its furnishings, furniture, bedding, and sanitary appointments. All the bedding was supplied - the pillows, mattresses, towels, and sheets were of very good quality. The whole place was very spacious, light, and beautifully clean. All rooms had aircon, which was welcome after long hot sticky days out. There were plenty of mains switch points for plugging in mobile chargers and stuff, WIFI, TVs in each room and a good electricity supply (all very important, where my children were concerned). There was plenty of hot water, powered by solar energy with an electric boiler, as back up. The water pressure was excellent as we were only on the first floor - so great for showers and washing up. The apartment was a five-minute walk from the taxi rank and bus stop, for ease of travel. For my mother-in-law, it was also close to shops and the archeological museum (and a short ride to the hospital and main airport in case we needed it). The owners of the apartment were absolutely delightful and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, every time we had a question, and we had many, they were quick to message an answer and to solve a problem. We communicated in English, as (shamefully) we had no Greek, but that was no issue for them. It was very reassuring to have all our questions answered and if there wasn’t something in the flat that we needed, they were quick to help us.

There could have been more basic equipment in the kitchen such as a brush to sweep the floor; and the third bedroom had no cupboard or wardrobe to put clothes. But I am sure the owners will rectify that as they were so open to suggestions and quick to remedy any deficiencies.

The apartment is very spacious, we were five people and it was not crowded at all, the kitchen is large with a dining table next to it, comfortable beds, TV in every room, excellent internet and an amazing location.
