Modern Farmhouse on Kent Street

Hosts were in contact and readily available to help if needed (that was not really required, as everything worked out perfectly). The location was excellent. Safe, quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood right at Weelock Parkway, where bike and walkways take to Como Park/Lake to the West and to Gateway Trail and Phalen Lake/Park to the East. Shopping area close by and a very popular ice cream shop a block away. The house was in great condition, very comfortable for a family or group of friends. The kitchen had all we needed and in great working condition. The laundry on site (washer + drier) was also very convenient. Rooms had enough storage to have a whole family set of clothes organized (one had a good size walk-in closet, another one a closet and two had large set of drawers). Beds were comfy and all bedding and towels were provided. Toiletries were also provided. The garden was nice and well taken care of. Overall, a great place to stay. We would go back.

Having one bathroom is -perhaps- the only thing that a large group would need to consider. It is clearly stated in the description, however, and it was not an issue for us. The possibility of using a closed garage (available on site) or shed would be great for bikes.

we were not provided with the necessary provisions or equipment. we booked for 5 people and were given provisions for 3 people. the house advertised use of washing machine and we were not allowed to use it.

Setup, furnishing, location amenities

The location was perfect. We found most things that we wanted to do in St Paul were about a 10-15 minute drive away, and some places for family events were about 30-45 minutes. We also found that the size was good for us, so that everyone had their own space to sleep, and hang out during the day. The bar stools in the kitchen were also a hit. Most importantly for a winter visit, there was a snow shovel to handle the path, and a broom for clearing our car, while the heating was good for the cold (-15c) weather. We had an issue with the coffee machine, and the owner solved that with a new one quite quickly. All in all, a good place to stay.

There was one small blanket on the living room sofa, and on reflection a few more bigger ones would've been perfect for the winter. We only realised this as we were leaving, and I'm sure that if we'd mentioned it, that it would've been resolved. Otherwise, there was nothing that we found wanting in the property.
