Danseys Pass Lavender Farm Shearer's Hut

We loved the location and getting to explore a remote part of the South Island. The domes are much bigger than I expected, very warm and clean. We loved the hot tub and outdoor shower too. We swam in the river, which was a humbling experience for an Irish woman!! Much colder than I expected but clean, clear and beautiful with visits from horses and sheep 🐑

We wish we had more time there

Absolutely everything! The domes are so private, luxurious and romantic. You can 'get back to nature' without sacrificing the niceties. There is an unmatched attention to detail about this place, including the hand-delivered breakfast with freshly baked bread in the morning!

Nothing! It was perfect!

Fabulous stay, the domes are beautifully decorated, warm & well equipped with everything you need. Loved the sauna down beside the river. Very peaceful & private location. Tim, our host was awesome. We will be coming back!

Such a perfect escape was a fantastic place to relax unwind and just enjoy the peace. We loved it. The sauna was on when we arrived and we used it after braving a cold dip in the river. And then the hot hot tub for the evening when the stars came out.

Nothing

Everything about the stay and property was so lovely. The amount of attention to detail in the domes of how the kitchen was laid out and labelled, to the bathroom, to the lay out of the dome itself and the comfortable seats, couch and bed. Everything was really nice, relaxing, comfortable and clean (including the hot tub)! The hosts (and their dog!) were very lovely. We stayed 2 days and that should be the minimum stay if you decide to choose this accommodation. We spent a lot of our time just staring out at the hills from the couch and doing the puzzle provided. We’re already talking about when’s the next time we can visit.
