Sue Pa Family Trekking Homestay

We were looking for a homestay outside Sapa, so we were really happy to be welcomed in her home by Sue and all her family. Sue also helped us book a transfer from Lao Cai to Sapa and then the taxi from Sapa to her home (and the same on the way back). While we stayed with her, we really enjoyed going hiking with Sue, but also spending time at home, just hanging around. I also asked her if she could help me organise an indigo batik workshop, the next day she brought us to Tom Hmong's workshop and I spent 3 enchanting hours there learning how to use wax and drawing. In the end, we wished we stayed even more than 3 days there!

Qui abbiamo conosciuto la vera ospitalità, lontani dal turismo convenzionale e immersi in un paesaggio fiabesco. Mama Su è una splendida padrona di casa e un'ottima camminatrice che ci ha portato alla scoperta delle meraviglie del luogo. Hanno costruito con le loro mani la casa nella quale ci hanno accolto, e abbiamo avuto l'onore di conoscere meglio la sua famiglia cenando insieme a loro e mangiando alcuni ottimi piatti della cucina tradizionale. Grazie ancora Mama Su per questi giorni incredibili! We love you! ❤️ .

I don't know where to start it was such a heartwarming and wholesome time at mama su. She and her family welcomed us so much. We played with the lovely Mae and she showed us how to prep corn for drying. In the evening we had an amazing dinner which fed everyone Soo good like no other dinner in my 3 month travel. And the breakfast pancakes so delicious 😋. Thank you mama su and family for that wonderful time.

We seriously had the best time staying with Mama Sue and her family. They are all so welcoming and sweet. We spend the evenings having dinner with the family and eating some of the best vietnamese food you will ever have and of course drinking some happy water. Mama Sue took us on a trekking tour through the mountains, which was so much fun. the rooms have comfortable beds and everything you would need. and with the house being so high up in the mountains, you have the best views out of your bed room.

Staying at Mama Sue’s Homestay was one of the most unforgettable experiences of our travels. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed, like part of the family. Even though she was fully booked, Mama Sue kindly arranged a night for us at her brother’s place, which was just as warm and inviting. She took care of everything, from organizing taxis to guiding us through local traditions and experiences. We hiked through bamboo forests, rice paddies, and mountain paths, learning so much from her about the land and her culture. Meals were a special experience as she cooked delicious food using ingredients we gathered from the forest ourselves. Her knowledge of the area and her tribe’s traditions is incredible. We felt truly connected, not just to the place, but to the people. Days were spent with her family and fellow travelers who shared a love for nature and culture, creating a strong sense of community. The bed was clean and comfortable, and her home is in a beautiful place high in the mountains. At night, when the lights go out, all you hear are the sounds of animals in the dark. And of course, we won’t forget the fun evenings drinking happy water and sharing stories. If you want an authentic, warm, and meaningful experience, Mama Sue’s Homestay is the place to be.

Sue and her family are super kind and generous! A very simple experience but Authentic, outside the City of Sapa! The breakfast is super good and wasting together at night super fun! Trekking with mama Sue is amazing, she will bring you to amazing places :)

We had a very good time as Sue's home ! It was a very local experience to stay at her place and share the dinner with her, her family and the other guests. The place is in a peacefull aera far from the mass tourism of Sapa. The view is really beautiful ! Moreover Sue offers trekkings that we enjoyed a lot. We have walked through very authentik villages and stop at amazing view points. Sue is very kind and funny ! We recomend you to stay at her place :)
