North Star Hotel Pictured Rocks

Very good price comparatively and nice clean room. The vending machines were all sold out due to last day open for the season. Shampoo bottle was empty I noticed only after I got in the shower! I relayed that information to the gentleman at checkout and he replied "we're closing tomorrow anyway". Well, that's not the point! When you reopen, will it still be empty?

Room was warm upon entering, very clean. Quiet room. Easy entry from outside. Nice options for breakfast. Would only suggest that butter remain out - non refrigerated. Butter never did melt on toast.

I stayed for 3 days total - 2 nights before a hike of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (42 miles) and one night after completing the hike. Staff was very warm and welcoming at check in. Location was excellent - close to town, grocery store and also to start of hike at Munising visitor center. Appreciated comfy sitting chair in both rooms I stayed in, especially at end of hike. Jacuzzi/spa well-kept and good temperature :). Solid breakfast options. Staff went above and beyond when I called after getting home to inquire about my hiking clothes that I had inadvertently left in room. After they could not be found because a new housekeeper threw them out, the hotel compensated me 100% for their replacement value. Could not have asked for a better outcome.
