We couldn't stay at this property. In short, the property was unhygienic, badly maintained and dangerous. Upon entering the property there was a really bad smell while waiting at the door. In the room we booked there were hairs in the bed, stains all over the carpet, marks and dust all over the side units, stains and marks down the walls and door, stains on headboard and torn bed headboard cloth, debris over the carpet, dangerous broken glass on the carpet, an absolute hazard, mouldy shower cubicle, unclean toilet. After the manager attempted to convince us it was all fine and we should stay in this terrible room regardless of condition, he eventually gave in and offered an alternative room, it hadn't been cleaned, food plates with food everywhere, bed not made up, cigarette lighters, smell of smoke, rubbish on floor, we asked if he had anywhere else, he showed us a flat upstairs, on the way we discovered brown stains dripping over the banister and stairway. Sadly the flat (suite) was even worse, excrement in the toilet even though he said it had been cleaned, mouldy bathroom, greasy finger smudges and stains all over kitchen units and worktop, cooker filthy with grease and black drips and splatter, carpet not cleaned, side units dirty, absolutely disgusting, unclean, unhygienic. No other rooms available. Since we couldn't stay in this absolute hazard, the manager said to contact the owner via booking.com for a refund, we did this and the owner declared we needed to mark the booking as a 'no show' to obtain a refund without him being charged by booking.com, we checked with booking.com, they confirmed the owner is absolutely able to refund us without marking as a 'no show' and that we had arrived at the property to stay so shouldn't need to do this.
