The size of the property

The entrance hall was very dirty and there was NO LIGHTING what so ever... The flat itself smelt musty as we couldn't open the window and there was no fire escape details

I liked the privacy.

No hot water, or heat, but the owner made arrangements for me.

Sitting room

Open door on street to a dark stone entrance, not clean,hope after dark no lights to climb steps to front door of flat, thank goodness my son came in with us and used his phone torch. Beds uncomfortable doors didn’t fit properly, furniture old and tired needs upgrade.

Spacious. In the middle of town.

Beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. There were no curtains and the blinds were broken and patched up in places, which looked terrible. With it being in the middle of summer, the light in the early hours woke us up. So we didnt get a good nights rest.The Cups in the kitchen were not clean and there was no bowls to have our breakfast in in the morning. The hall way inside the building leading up to apartment was dindgey and run down. The correspondence with the host was confusing. After initially getting a message after booking it from booking.com, to say that the property was no longer available. We booked somewhere else. But then the owner contacted us later and told us that booking.com had put the wrong price up and we could have the apartment for a reduced rate if we paid the difference. I still thought it was a good price for what we were getting. So we decided to take the apartment. I was very disappointed when I arrived and realised it actually wasn't value for money. So I do feel we have been ripped off. The apartment could be nice, as the location is good and the apartment is spacious. It just needs improving and modernising to make it a pleasant place to stay, in my opinion.

Forfar is central for travel to other places such as Dundee, Montrose & Arbroath. The flat is located in the centre of Forfar with free parking in the public parking area at the back. The host was extremely helpful attending to any issues straight away. There was plenty of space in the living room/kitchen area. Don't forget to have a Forfar bridie. The information office is just around the corner.

If you have small suitcases the circular staircase would not be a problem. Larger cases are challenging but manageable.
