Spacious, clean, bright and airy home. Close enough to the city but away from the hustle and bustle.

Lack of freezer compartment in fridge and no dining table to sit around (stools at counter only). There is enough space to provide a table and 4 chairs, which would be good!

This is indeed a "beautiful home" and just as it's shown in the photos. The whole home is exceptionally clean and it's also free of clutter, with all the conveniences of being a "home away from home". While it's listed as "close to everything", we had the benefit of having a car. I don't know how much public transport is nearby, but didn't notice much in the way of buses, etc. There were plenty of utensils and cooking supplies in the kitchen, and even laundry soap provided for guests to use. The beds were both very comfortable and styled nicely. The bathroom was large enough to accommodate everyone, with good water pressure and adequate towel hanging spaces for 4 people. The hosts responded quickly to questions and also kindly agreed to an earlier check in time by 1 hour on the day of our arrival (though as it turned out, we didn't need it and arrived later than expected). There's parking for 1 car, though the turning space might be a little tight if there are guests in the other 2 dwellings on this same lot and they have cars too. The "beautiful home near everything" is located behind a larger house at the front of the property lot. There is additional smaller building opposite to "beautiful home near everything" in the rear of the lot which appeared to be a renovated garage or granny flat. There's parking for one vehicle each per building, at the end of a narrow driveaway. Our Mitsubishi ASX fit easily, but we didn't have to share the parking area whilst there enabling easier turning around to exit.

I would have given this property "10/10" if it were not for noisy construction next door, with framework, etc that also marred some of the views out of the property's windows. The house has "Quiet Zone" rules between 10pm and 7am for guests to abide by, and at a guess this is a neighborhood ordinance as the contractors literally began work at 7am with hammering and power tools. We were unaware of construction happening on the house next door (which was literally against the fence near one of the bedrooms and the shared bathroom). While this would be a temporary situation and no fault of the hosts, it would have been nice to have been notified when I made the booking. It was impossible to sleep when they started work at 7am, as the noise generated woke everyone up. Normally I wouldn't mind but feel open disclosure is important. This should have been communicated to us (at either the time of booking or at any time thereafter), and it may have resulted in us choosing another location for our last night in N.Z. (we had planned on having a sleep-in prior to checking out and heading to the airport for our departure the next day). It was obvious from the framework that the house next door is adding a second floor and thus undergoing extensive work, which would be more than a week or two being completed. I had been in communication with the hosts on other occasions since making the booking, but this was never mentioned.

We stayed here recently and overall had a good experience. The property was advertised as a beautiful home near everything, which is partly true. The home itself was spacious, beautifully presented, and very quiet inside — perfect for relaxing after a day out. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed (though no freezer, which meant dessert came before dinner one night!). The kids loved having their own room, and it was great to have space to spread out, cook, and enjoy a quiet evening with TV. All in all, a lovely base if you’re happy being just outside of town and want a quiet, comfortable place to return to at the end of the day.

A few things to note: this is one of three properties onsite, so you do have close neighbours. During our stay one was doing building work, which meant hammering and sanding started as early as 7.15am. Also, while it is “close to everything,” you’ll really need a car — it’s about a 10-minute drive into town.
