Very good breakfast. Exceptional location. The staff very friendly. Free bicycle. The restaurant was good at dinner also.

The location was good, the room was spacious, the pool had a stunning view and the hotel is in rice fields.

Unfortunately, my experience was negative. A hotel with potential in terms of infrastructure and facilities, but the service is the most shocking I have encountered and that is what makes my experience negative. From the beginning, there were language gaps with the reception staff, but what gave an unpleasant feeling was that they did not cooperate and tried to understand. There was no basic understanding of things that are the basis for providing service. At check-in, we were given a room that did not match the type of room booked at all (the photos and the name of the room that appeared in our reservation were different from what they actually offered). The attitude of the reception staff was absurd. They claimed that they could not upload photos of every room type to the Booking website and that this was the only room available. In the end, they agreed to "upgrade" us to a room that looked like the room we had paid for in advance, and even then, the beds were different from the ones we had booked in advance. And that's not all- 1. During the reservation, I mentioned that I had a food allergy and although there was correspondence between us (thanks to which I booked the hotel), the dining room and kitchen staff said that they were not informed. The receptionist surprised me with his attitude, argued with me, said that I should simply eat what I can, and demanded to see the message in which they promised me options of food that I was allowed to eat. 2. An additional fee was added to the room price in addition to what was written in the reservation on the Booking website. 3. We received the room we had to compromise on late. Which caused plans to be canceled. In conclusion, The hotel and the facilities are pampering. And the service?! Disappointing, outrageous, and disgraceful! Without a doubt, the hotel has many, many opportunities to improve. Really disappointing, I was looking forward to staying at this hotel.

I had another accommodation booked but I was not having a good experience so I re-booked a stay here at Athena. Upon check-in, staff was extremely kind and welcoming. I even got a room upgrade which made my day better. My room was very clean and comfy. The location was beautiful, as it was next to the karst mountains and rice fields. Bikes are free and you can easily bike to the Tam Coc town center. There are quite a few restaurants near the accommodations you can walk or blke to as well. Breakfast every morning was solid. I prefer Asian breakfast vs Western so I have no complaints. A huge shoutout to the security guards up in the front who were a delight to see before leaving and upon returning! Especially the gentleman who worked mornings. He was so kind and helpful.

Bikes could use some maintenance (or maybe buy new ones). One of the bikes I rented had a faulty gear so it didn’t pedal at times. Another bike I rented had a broken kickstand.

Good location, facilities, nice pool, friendly staff

This resort is in a peaceful and very picturesque location. The room quality that you see in photos is pretty much what you get and the beds are probably the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. We were a mixed English and Vietnamese group but the check-in staff were welcoming, polite and spoke good English. Although we didn’t use the pool or the gym, the pool was not at all crowded and the gym facilities looked good but the gym was empty.

Although we notified the resort of our arrival time in advance, only one of our rooms was ready when we checked in. The bedroom was as shown in the photos but the shower-head was only loosely fixed to the wall and the external glass wall was not sealed well. My biggest issue with this property though is the food hygiene at breakfast. There is a wide range of dishes but the food is not covered and the cold meats and fruit are kept at room temperature (30+ C on the day we were there). Flies were on all of the food. For a resort of this quality, this was disappointing.
