Stylish Penthouse with outside balcony!

The place had a lovely balcony, which we couldn't quite find the lighting for but it was lovely to have tea outside on a cold night. The property has all the features to be a really good place to stay, but however does need quite a bit of TLC.

As mentioned the place does need a bit of TLC. Toilet doors did not lock and one didn't close. Floor felt extremely sticky, there was some tea spilt by the previous occupants. Might be down to us arriving on Christmas Day and there being no cleaner available but you still expect the place to be clean. There was a strong pungy smell in the property but could easily be solved by some plugin fragrances. There was a large tv but the apps were really slow and netflix had a cursor instead simple toggle between options via arrow and the remote literally had a large crack which it difficult to use.

The apartment itself was lovely and clean, well presented and well equipped. The hosts were really responsive and dealt with issues quickly and efficiently, which included providing extra bedding and crockery on request. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. We were asked to move apartments shortly after we arrived - this was not a problem and the new apartment was on the same floor and just as nice as the old. We were offered a partial refund for the inconvenience, which I thought was very generous.

We were asked for £150 deposit 24 hours before we were due to stay. At that point, we had no other option than to pay. I have checked the advert again, and I cannot see that a deposit is mentioned before booking. To be clear, the deposit was returned in full within 72 hours of checking out, although I did have to chase it. On arrival, there are a large number of lock boxes on the gates to the building. The instructions we received were not very accurate (there were three lock boxes on the bottom left, not one), so we had to try the code in a few different boxes to get the right one. The apartment complex is next to a retail park and across from a derelict building. The area did not feel safe and there were a number of men hanging around outside in the evening. The smell of marijuana in the building was overwhelming. The apartment is advertised as 5 bed - it isn't. There are two double beds upstairs but the 5th person has to sleep on the couch - hence the request for extra bedding. It was a comfortable couch but I would not have booked the apartment had I known I would be sleeping on the sofa.

I had an incredible experience staying at this penthouse hosted by Jo. They were extremely helpful throughout my stay, going above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. The penthouse itself was breathtaking, with stunning views and luxurious amenities. The attention to detail and cleanliness were top-notch. I felt like I was living in a dream! I can't thank enough Jo for their hospitality and for making my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this Airbnb host to anyone looking for a truly exceptional experience. The property was very clean and comfortable. Central location with big retail park next to it. Very efficient host and booking

The communal areas were dirty and rubbish scattered on floor. a mixed bunch of people there. Could smell marijuana everywhere. Looks like it’s also being used for council temporary housing.
