The Lanaux Mansion

The location was perfect, we felt the local vibes, no just the tourist frenzy. It was stylish with a New Orleans flair. We loved, loved, loved the private courtyard and the secure garage was a „over the top“.

I couldn't figure out how to use the coffee maker, other than that everything was fine.

The property was as described and perfect for two couples! They even let us use the main house so our accomplished pianist could entertain us, such a fun memory :)

There is no bathroom on the main level, a bit tricky to navigate the narrow and wonky stairs to the two upper floors with the bedroom suites. Understandably, there is constant maintenance for such a beautifully preserved historical mansion, Nofio was courteous and helpful with recommendations!

Our room in particular was its own freestanding building-- very private and romantic, not necessarily what we expected but extremely charming.

The patio is simply lovely. A true get-away and gathering spot. Comfortable seating. Green and lush. Birds singing. Dappled sun. Old brick. Fountain with the sound of running water.

Be ready for lts of stairs to get to the bedrooms.

If you are a music lover the location can't be beat -- pretty quite and private considering you are steps from Frenchman Street, which has some of the best live music bars in the city and a great street scene that basically allows you to sample all the acts without going into the venues at all. You're also just a half block from the edge of the French Quarter, so everything is super convenient. ... We found the bed softer than what we are used to but extremely comfortable with good quality sheets and pillows. ... Overall the place was clean and comfortable and better supplied than most rentals, with milk in the fridge for coffee, some yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast, etc. ... The management was super fast to respond to questions and emails. ... Definitely recommend

The WiFi was out when we first arrived but that was resolved quickly and we found it pretty fast once it started working. The lack of any light fixture in the shower was weird. There was just a bit of a damp smell to the place, but there are two doors to the outside as well as air conditioning, so very easy to air out and freshen up. And the overall cleanliness of the place prevented us from feeling like the order was caused by mildew or anything like that. But it might be something for them to work on.

The property is beautiful and the room was very comfortable. We loved the location and the courtyard around the house. The only small issue was the noise late at night but that’s to be expected for the location and was easily resolved with white noise from fans and our phones. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Our time spent on Frenchmen St was the highlight of our trip.
