Aherne's Townhouse Hotel and Seafood Restaurant

Very friendly nice people working there. Good breakfasts

Impossible to use the sink with either too hot water or only cold. Impossible to mix them together. Very bad outdated shower 🚿. The safe box was not working, the TV was not working , overall the hotel and the room is very outdated. I assume it’s a regular thing in Ireland and especially in a small town like that but for that price (300$ a day), such poor quality of everything is not ok. I hate writing bad reviews, but unfortunately it is how it is.

A real pity to see this landmark guest house fall from grace. While the guest rooms were clean and comfortable, the property is nowhere close to being a 4 star Blue Book guesthouse. Breakfast was fine, with Ann’s homemade brown bread being a highlight; however it was a real pity that the full breakfast was nothing special and the scrambled eggs inedible. Most disappointing was the seafood open sandwich which included some questionable tinned fish and didn’t seem to include any fresh seafood on the plate at all. We were hoping for a much nicer experience but it wasn’t worth €200 bnb so we won’t be back.

Breakfast was excellent. Fresh and great flavour. Quality was excellent. Owners were very nice. Very knowledgeable about the area. Told us where to go and how to get there. Highly recommended a stay here.

The staff were excellent at all times,the food was superb.We were extremely well looked after. Highly recommend this wonderful hotel and restaurant. We will be back.

Everything, it was a beautiful relaxing two days that was very special. John, Katie and Ann were very welcoming. The seafood menu made it very difficult to choose from, fantastic food, presented well and beautiful..

The staff were very friendly and looked after us really well.

The bed linen. I think we have all moved on from blankets ect, also the bathroom towels should all be replaced as they showed signs of wear.

Major problem was we needed to leave at 7:00 before breakfast but our car was locked in the car park. No staff around to help. It would have helped if someone had told us that before we put our car in the car park. Otherwise we would have left it outside on the street. Eventually the owner arrived at 8am.
