ARCTIC HOMES - The View

The location was excellent, and the view of Tromsø and the Arctic Cathedral on the one hand and to Fjellheisen on the other side was absolutely sensational.

Unfortunately, this was one of my worst apartment experiences. I arrived very late and immediately noticed several cleanliness issues: dirty dishes were still on the shelf (there was even tea left in the mug from the previous guest), and there was standing water that at first made me think there might be water damage. Used tissues were lying around, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the bed wasn’t freshly made—although I admit I might be imagining that. I travel a lot, but nothing like this has ever happened to me before. It was also stated that a QR code with further information (including the Wi-Fi password) would be available in the apartment, but there was none to be found. I never received any information about where to park either—everything was covered in snow and it wasn't clear where to leave the car. There isn't a shovel or anything similar for clearing the sidewalk either (in Finland, for example, there is a shovel and a broom in front of every apartment in winter). The room setup was somewhat inconvenient: there was no closet and no hangers to hang anything on—just a simple coat rack. There is a Nespresso coffee machine but no capsules, and a dishwasher but no tabs or detergent -> would be practical, especially for shorter stays.

One of the best stays I've ever been in. Amazing hosts. They even gave us recommendations for the Northern Lights chase and the Husky tour. They were super helpful and prompt. Would love to visit again.

They could put blinds in the living room, but I guess that's a common thing to see in Tromso

Fantastic views; easy local transport (bus24, bus 26); short walk to cable car; short walk to Arctic Cathedral; really comfortable bed for two with separate duvets; excellent hot and powerful shower. Alex who ‘hosts’ the property was always courteous and helpful, and quick to respond to any questions we had. We definitely recommend!
