Everything was hideous. It was the most scary hateful start to our holiday with being abandoned in the middle of nowhere with zero WiFi to call for help. When we finally got help from a policeman who called the riad manager, the manager yelled at me for daring to say we felt afraid and unsafe. He threatened to cancel our accommodation all together and leave me and my boys without anywhere to go. Over an hour later we were taken to the riad which was down a very scary labyrinth of noise, dead cats, and lots of people, none of whom looked like tourists.

We were so afraid and so upset from being yelled at. When we finally got inside, the place was ok but unclean. The hot tub was disgusting and there were three birds trapped in the kitchen pooping and screeching. The breakfast was going to be made each day by a stranger coming into the riad which we found to be intrusive, uncomfortable and not as advertised. The whole thing was traumatic. I was in tears. My son was crying. It was awful awful awful. The problem with Bookong.com is that you have become so big that I truly don't think you know what you're advertising. We had to leave and pay over £1000 for new accommodation.

Beautifully decorated traditional riad. Comfy beds, great breakfast each morning. Two guest house birds were cute, sun deck is very relaxing. A great way to get a local feel of Marrakech in a really well designed and finished riad. Feels very safe inside and generally really quiet and relaxing, whilst also being close to good restaurants.

The area around is a little run down, though it looks like regeneration works were ongoing so feels like the best riad in an up and coming area. It would have been good to know how close we are to the two local minarets.The 4.45 wake up calls with loud speakers from 60m away were an interesting experience! (We lived in Dubai for three years so are used to live in a muslim country but it was very loud) If you aren't praying each day, definitely a good tip is to bring some earplugs, especially if you are staying in the top room.

Our decision to leave the accommodation was based solely on serious safety concerns. From the very beginning, we started feeling unsafe when the host requested to speak directly to our taxi driver, explaining that the location listed online was not the final destination. This was an immediate red flag for us, as we specifically wanted a place that was easily accessible. It was also important for us to have the exact location shared with our husbands and children for safety reasons, so they knew exactly where we were in case of an emergency as we are tourists from UK. Upon arrival, we realized that the surrounding area looked really unsafe. The neighborhood was in a state that could only be described as slum-like, and we had to walk an additional twelve minutes from the gate where our taxi dropped us just to reach the property. The host said the road to the house couldn’t be accessed using a vehicle. This was not acceptable, and it immediately made us feel uneasy. We summoned courage and followed him through the path praying for our safety. Additionally, a group of boys were hanging around and talking in a way that felt targeted at us. making us feel even more unsafe. As married women with children, our goal was to have a peaceful and secure weekend break, not to be in an environment that made us fear for our safety.
