Location a little out of town but close enough to explore and within beautiful serene rice paddies. Staff were great and very helpful and the free bicycles were great. Sadly food was very average compared to what we have experienced so far, however would recommend phong nha family restaurant for food which is literally at the end of the road.

Accommodation seemed more focussed as a tour operator meaning alot of non guests/guides hanging around pool area, being less appealing and relaxing.

Sy was really helpful in advance of our stay, offering recommendations for tours and arranging a pick up from Dong Hoi train station for an extra fee. Him and his wife were very friendly.

We were staying at Sy’s for a day before doing the two day Hang En Cave trek so we were hoping for somewhere we could relax and enjoy the pool. However, there was quite loud building works taking place all day next to and around the pool area, so we ended up spending the day in our room for somewhere quiet to be. Not really what we had hoped for from our stay and it would have been nice to know in advance. The room was nice and the beds comfy so I think we were just unlucky. The breakfast was good, but I’d suggest eating out in the evening. We had to leave half an hour before breakfast started on our last day to get to Dong Hoi train station and Sy’s wife very kindly offered to provide us fruit and water for breakfast to take with us but unfortunately it wasn’t ready when we left so we didn’t have any breakfast before our 9 hour train journey. Not really a problem but unfortunate.

The beautiful setting, the outdoor space for sitting. Enough space to store your things comfortably. Free bikes. Children running around playing and laughing.

Terrible food. No furniture to sit outside on your own porch. Small, thin towels. Concrete floors. Bikes were a little wobbly and uncared for.

Amazing place to stay, the host Sy was lovely and ever so helpful. She organised our bikes and motorbikes for us and picked us up from the station and dropped us to the bus station. The breakfast had a good selection and was made to a high quality. The room itself was AMAZING, had everything you could need and was very spacious. We found the location to be perfect and had a wonderful time.

There are lots of mosquitos being in a rice field but not anything bug spray can’t fix and the beds had mosquito nets around them, so not much of a problem when sleeping.

The property is located in a beautiful quite area surrounded by rice fields with the Phon Nha - Ke Bang mountains on the horizon. The property is nice, clean, with big rooms and a spacious common patio where to enjoy meals and the view. The owner, Sy, and his wife are wonderful. They helped me to choose and book a tour in Phang Nha - Ke Bang national park. They came to pick me up at the bust station at my arrival and help me to book a taxi to the airport when I left.

We really enjoyed our stay in their homestay. Sy's family is super friendly and helpful with anything you need. The breakfast is super tasty, try the omelette and the pancakes. And the food for lunch or dinner is also very good. It has a nice swimming pool and patio area. The room was very confortable and clean. It is 15 mins walking from the city, in a more calm area surrounded by rice fields, great place to relax. We really recommend this homestay to everyone and we would definitely come back!

Sy’s Homestay is picture-perfect. A great location to relax and enjoy the views of Phong Nha. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Our host was amazing, she was great at helping with everything, food, tours, transfers, buses to our next destination. I 100% recommend Sy’s Homestay to anyone visiting Phong Nha.

Sy and Hguyen were super friendly and accommodating, giving suggestions for activities to do as a family with young kids, to organising mountain bikes for us as we werent comfortable taking 2 little ones on a motor bike and chose to cycle instead. Lovely view of the mountains and rice fields and rooms were really spacious too

Food was average and took forever. Unfortunately, with the location, food options are a bit limited with the closest place being around 1km away. Not a drama if you have a motorcycle, but as we had 2 young kids and didn't want to walk with them at night on the unlit road, we opted to just eat in each night. But overall the place is fantastic for the price

Sy and his family went the extra mile to make our stay great. The location is perfect as it is out of the main town area so it’s less touristy and more peaceful, but it is easy to get there if you want to. The homestay is really beautiful and well designed.
