Silver Lodge Guest House

A very clean and tidy place and Carolyn was a lovely host. If I ever need to stay in the area again I'll absolutely book Silver lodge again.

L'accueil est charmant, tout est fait pour se sentir chez soi, nous étions même les bienvenus dans un salon et dans le jardin. Les chambres sont agréables et confortables, le petit-déjeuner n'est pas à proprement parler britannique, mais comprend toasts, céréales, des fruits, et de petites gourmandises préparées avec des produits du jardin. Parking suffisant.

Il faut être prêt à partager une salle de bain avec d'autres personnes, mais on le sait avant, et il y a un WC à part aussi, donc pas trop de concurrence.

The location

Cobwebs all around the room, tea/coffee cups stained and dirty, no milk even if I wanted one. Carpet in our room stained. Nuisance cat scratching at our door. Bed uncomfortable and pillows useless. Noise throughout the night, such as other people going to the toilet, bangs, and creaks throughout. The shared bathroom had 3 huge spiders on the ceiling on our arrival, which unsettled my wife due to her fear of spiders. We hardly slept as the cobwebs in our room indicated that more spiders were present. This is a dated property that needs a complete overhaul. Modernising the rooms and a good clean would improve the experience. We would not stay here again. It was a complete waste of £82.00.

Great location with plenty of parking, comfortable lounge area where you can relax and unwind, and a lovely owner who made the overnight stay feel a home from home.
