Despertar do Sol by An Island Apart

It is a very lovely place. It is located near the airport, but it was really quiet after closing the windows. Better sleep than in centrum of Funchal! During our stay there was some firefighters practise/training at night, we didn´t notice it at all. We had delicious cookies and lots of fresh fruit prepared for us (even though we only stayed for two nights). Everything was just perfect, we will definitely be back again next year! :)

The place is so clean, well maintained, comfortable, spacious and private. Impeccable. And for this money? I didn't expect half of what I got. The house has a kitchen, a big living room, two balconies with ocean views, three (!!!) bathrooms, two bedrooms upstairs. The view on the sunrise is the best I have ever seen. The property is "facing" the airport, which provides amazing view on the planes landing on this tricky runway. We were not bothered by the noise of the planes, not a smallest bit.

There was a small hidden cost (12 euro in total for 2 nights for 3 guests) of some sort of tax. The drive up the hill was scary for an unprepared driver, might be quite tricky for an unexperienced one (luckily there's a nice private parking spot at the property).

Beautiful view however you need a car to get around as the road is very steep and not easy to walk on.

The location of the house, if you plan to stay there you need to ensure you hire a car to get around.
