The Little House

Remarkable conversion of an old barn. Despite being one big room (plus bathroom) everything was there - well appointed kitchen, double bed, sofa, TV. Only had access to catch up TV. In a small village with no shops (but 2 pubs). Lovely area for walking - can walk to Barnard Castle on a very pleasant 2 hour country walk through well marked fields. Rachel had left eggs and milk (coffee and tea) which were appreciated, but definitely worth making sure you have some other basics with you as you'd have to go back out in the car otherwise.

Car parking needs firmed up. As instructed we parked round the corner on the street, but clearly got that wrong as a local advised us as we were leaving!

The little house was well stocked and very comfortable, especially the bed. The bathroom was spacious and the shower really good. The hosts were very helpful and the information in the cottage had great ideas for places to visit. The Wi-Fi was really good.

Because the propriety was in the hosts garden half the windows were opaque and the ones that you could look through were overlooking a track and a fence of a garden. As people walked passed they can look directly into the property. There was no view, but the property was not advertised as having one.

some dirt in some areas such as sofa and some cutlery but didn’t effect the stay.

The Little House is small but well thought out and has everything a couple (and their dog) could need for an enjoyable stay. It is well designed, comfortable, cosy and clean. The area is beautiful and there is plenty to see and do. We did not actually meet the host as we had no problems whatsoever but online communication was excellent so I have no doubt she would have proved helpful had we needed her. A very pleasurable stay and we hope to return.

Nothing really but if pushed perhaps somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the spring sunshine and a glass of wine would have been nice.

The path up to the accommodation was muddy and we felt more gravel on this would have been beneficial
