Location and breakfast box

I was probably unlucky but the passageway leading to the hotel entrance was thick with wet mud and dark. The reason for this was clear when, before 8am while I sleeping, 2 or 3 men begain to work directly outside my room with a mechanical digger, which lasted until my check out time. Hardly the relaxed lie in I had planned for myself. The passageway was thick even thicker with mud when I left.. I am sure this was unlucky for my timing but this was the case on 13/14 Jan 2026.

Everything was provided we could possibly need, even a complimentary breakfast with musli and dried fruit, a coffee machine, milk yoghurt and orange juice in the fridge. And the supper in the restaurant downstairs where we booked a table was excellent.

The clocktower opposite chimed hourly all night, but even earplugs were provided. There was no carparking in front or at the back, but there was a public carpark nearby

Great location central to everything

We arrived to find the bar/closed for redecoration and the painter had to ring around to find someone to get the keys for us. Parking was ok for us because of the time of year but would imagine more difficult at peak times.

Quaint and full of character building with a clean room and quality breakfast goodies.

Not easy to access and lack of clarity about available parking. Once off the road parking is full, the next available parking is the public car park where the customer is expected to pay.

Breakfast hamper & "goodies" left for us in the room were excellent. The only issue we had was the hourly chiming of the bell in the tower opposite as our room was at the front.

At night the lights from the street shone through the gap at the side of the roller blind. This was a comment made by my partner as he slept on the street side of the bed.

Lovely room and fantastic bathroom! The shower pressure - divine!

Right in the centre of Coggeshall, and linked to the Brasserie next door (excellent for lunch or an evening meal). Lovely spot ❤️

Location was fantastic.

We was in room 6 ground floor quite nosiest room possible with cars and people walking past it really could do with second double glazing on the window.
