River Wye Hostel

This is a busy area with a lot of natural beauty. The host spent a lot of time with us upon arrival and before departure. He knows a lot about the history of the area. The hostel had canoe rentals, table tennis, games and more to do (I did not see a pool table?). The room had 6 bunk beds and we slept well. The kitchen was furnished. We made coffee and tea in the morning. I had a good piece of coffee cake from the cafe and the gas station around the corner has really good baked goods.

I forgot to bring towels, so we had to use other clothes to dry off, but that was my fault because we rarely stay in hostels. We had some really not very good fake Chinese food from a restaurant/pub in the town. The cafe sells sandwiches and baked goods and I wish we had just had our dinner there.

Excellent location for outdoor activities. The owner is amazing and super helpful as are the rest of the staff. Would definitely stay again

Duty Manager very helpful

Location is excellent and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I was allocated a bed in the bunkhouse, in which I was completely in my own and it was very cold. This website stated that I had taken the last bed, implying that the hostel was full… this was not the case and is an error in the part of the booking platform. This was very quickly remedied by the owner who arrived in the evening and moved me into the main building with heating and a couple of other friendly guests. Overall massively improving the whole experience. I’m sure I’ll return.
