The Monty Boston

It’s spectacular. This is a once in a lifetime spot. Gorgeous views. Sparklingly clean inside. Firm, new mattresses. Just amazing.

It’s a bummer that lots of people smoke and gather in front of the entrance. Not something that can be prevented but it’s worth knowing.

My trip was with 3 married couples, so the bedroom and bathroom set up was perfect. Very comfortable! Very spacious for those who wanted to stay up later or get up early and have some pretty great views (as long as you looked at the landmarks). There was also a washing/drying machine if needed. We did not make any meals so I cannot speak on the kitchen set up, but it appeared to be very functional.

While looking at the beautiful city views, you also had full view of the homeless. Such a differential in feelings, while taking in the historical views you also see the sad reality of those who have made different choices/had different circumstances than you. This is the downside, but yet it makes it very clear that it is prevalent in Boston. When you leave and come into The Monty you just need to be extra alert of your surroundings.

The Monty was a great stay for our latest trip to Boston for 3 couples! It is a perfect location across from Boston Commons with easy access to the Subway and walkable all around the city. The app used to access building was great and made us feel safe and secure. The unit was spacious and the beds were very comfortable! We would definitely stay at the Monty again!

Everything was perfect - location, staff!

We stayed in one of the penthouse units. The suite was clean and had nice features. It was a great location for site-seeing in Boston and the view is very nice of Boston Common and the state capitol building. However, the area has some homeless people and some rift raft. We never felt threatened though since we were in a group of 5. The Monty is next to a church which has a clock tower and the bell rings every 15 minutes and rings longer on the hour. It is loud and at night you can't sleep well. Luckily we had ear plugs which helped a lot.

The Monty exceeded our expectations. It was clean, spacious, well-appointed and perfect for our family. Peter, the host, was very responsive. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom well appointed and its an excellent location directly across the street from Boston Commons and the T. It allowed us to visit the colleges in Boston with ease. We loved our stay!

The place was beautiful and well equipped. Bedding was very comfortable. Everything was new and high end quality.

The location is not the best as far as safety is concerned. Lots of homeless people and vagrants hanging around. Didn’t feel safe going out in the evening in this area. Not very soundproof.

Great location for exploring Boston’s history. Very clean, comfortable, modern. Great communication from property management.
