The Monty Boston

The location has a great view of the capital building.

The unit is located towards the upper corner of Boston Common, and has some unsightly neighbors. The entrance area is inundated with homeless, and smelled like urine. The biggest issue that we had was the beautiful church located directly across the street from the building. Unfortunately the bells in that church ring 24/7, and every 15 minutes. The unit's windows did very little to drown out the sound, and it was impossible to sleep there. We came with our kids, and left the very next morning. The host was rude, and acted like a child. His response was "sorry you don't appreciate them" when I inquired about the bells ringing all night. He then followed up with advice about Europe, saying that they have churches on every corner, and that I shouldn't go there. The guy, Peter, is obviously clueless, and that did give me a chuckle. He proceeded to send me pictures of himself at a college football game and saying that he "doesn't sweat the small stuff". Anyone with kids knows that them not getting enough sleep is not small stuff, but I digress. The bells have been ringing like this for 250 years btw, Peter's very excited about that fact. Oh and his nephew (not his actual child, just his sibling's) is the captain of the Boston College Football team. I have no idea was I needed to know this either, but I'm sharing his messages with you.

Location was perfect. The entry system worked well. Plenty of room for 6 people. Lovely decor. Kitchen well equipped. Communication is good. View fantastic.

A few minor repairs needed (shower head).

Location is wonderful if you’re looking to be central to many neighborhoods in Boston - Back Bay, Beacon Hill, downtown, theater, Chinatown, North End were all within 10-15 min walk. Train station right across the street with access to red and green lines. Expect noise during day/night with the location but views of the Common are worth it in the quiet morning! The suite was perfect for our family with lots of kitchen, living and bedroom space for everyone. Beds were very comfy and the place was very clean upon arrival.

Each floor is its own suite accessed directly from the elevator. You can only access your own reserved floor. It was not a huge issue since there are limited number of guests. Only once did my son press the elevator button that was already going down and another person stopped on our floor.

Everything was great to live in this place! Very spacious and convenient.
