Beautiful hotel with spacious, modern and clean rooms. The bathroom was perfect en the bed very comfortable. Lovely outdoor area with amazing view of the lake. Amazing to have dinner or lunch here which was very good. You can also book a safari tour with the hotel, which we recommend!

What a wonderful place to stay! The design of the hotel is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere. It’s super spacious, perfect for relaxing. The room was amazing, and we slept really well. The safari to Yala was also incredible. But the best part was the food—the breakfast was definitely the most delicious we had in all of Sri Lanka. We would absolutely come back! ❤️

Wow. What more can I say. We came here as part of our honeymoon and we were completely blown away. This is truly an amazing and special place. The rooms are spacious, incredibly well-maintained and all the finer details are taken care of. The bathroom in our room was incredible. It is so quiet and peaceful with wildlife viewing on a constant basis. There are so many birds in the trees and fireflies in the evenings. The viewing balcony is a brilliant place to watch the birds and other wildlife, chill with a beer and watch the sunset. We arranged our safari through here as well and were so glad we did. The staff are all fantastic and so caring and attentive. We were given packed breakfast in beautiful boxes to have in the jeeps each day we went on Safari and when we asked for the Sri Lankan breakfast on the days we didn't- it was truly spectacular - the best breakfast we have had for our whole trip! The attention to details was second to none. We also had such a good experience, we ate dinner here every night which is something we never normally do. The chef and his creations are truly something else - we had the rice and curry and the kottu which were all the best we've had so far in Sri Lanka but we saw others have the grilled fish and prawns and they also looked and smelled amazing! It is a secluded, quiet and beautiful place and Madu gave us a truly personalised and wonderful experience. I am never normally this complimentary but this place is amazing. We couldn't recommend it more! Anyone visiting Tissa or Yala should stay or at least eat here. It is fantastic.

This place is magic. Absolute paradise! Madu and his staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our safari was well organised and Madu made sure we were well looked after. The food was superb and eating outside overlooking the lake during the evening was bliss. The hotel was without a doubt the best accomodation we have stayed at until now in Sri Lanka. The design is spot on. The layout of our “penthouse” was very well thought out and an excellent place to wind down after dinner. We have payed much more for other accomodations throughout our stay here that don’t even come close. The whole experience is almost a bonus on top of our Sri Lankan adventure. As for the safari, our very competent driver Dulita who we named Dr Dolittle took us on an unforgettable safari. We saw leopard, elephant, mongoose, monkeys, monitor lizards, crocs and countless beautiful birds. His spotting skills were second to none. A trip to remember for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Lovely property with amazing staff. A small boutique hotel right on the side of the lake with amazing views. The room was lovely and the hospitality even better. The food in the restaurant is amazing and very reasonably priced as well. We also booked a half day safari and had a great time with a lovely packaged breakfast for the road.

This is the most beautiful hotel we have been to in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautifully situated, right by the lake, sitting on the terrace you can watch the sunset while having a delicious dinner (the best food we have ever eaten). The hotel is decorated with taste and class, spacious rooms, with a modern but related to the place decor. The family room we occupied is basically an apartment with two separate, beautifully decorated rooms and a spacious bathroom. It is spotlessly clean and smells beautiful. Very friendly staff and a very nice and helpful owner. We regret that we could only stay one night. We recommend it, because the place is really extraordinary!

First of all,the staff were so welcoming and so attentive,the hotel itself is beautiful and very modern/simplistic,which is a style we liked very much. They organised the safari at Yala for us which was brilliant - only wish we had stayed longer - our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka
