The Loft St Austell

The flat was spacious, and all the facilities were available. Beds were comfortable and the location was also quiet.

It was a bit hard to locate the building as there were no house numberings in Fore Str. And no-one was able to tell where the nr 41a was. The shower was a bit clumsy to use. The rest was great.

Location was perfect.

Not too keen on the spiral stairs, but that's because I'm older! Haha

Loved the apartment! Spacious and stylishly furnished with nice pics/quotations if you are philosophical! And so much 'in stock' in the cupboard, coffee, tea, sugar, etc.! Glam shower! Cool spiral staircase! (very narrow, though.) Expected noise from street late evening but way quieter than expected: my wife heard some street noises but I heard nothing. We weren't there long enough to get to know it well but would love to come back - and for the price, it's a top pick. Great shops just around the corner.

Parking a problem, though I eventually found a street about 250yds away with no restriction: Park Rd PL25 5EZ would get you there. Beware the handy lay-by - it's a poorly signed disabled space and I was roundly told off, quite rightly, by a severely disabled guy who had to walk a long way extra because I (and others) had hogged the space which should have been available for him.

No blinds in the main bedroom meant a very early wake up! Spiral staircase a bit awkward

It was comfortable and well kitted out. Location on the main street made it easy for the taxi to take me to the station at the end of the stay.

The stairs, particularly at the end of a long day or taking my suitcase up and down the stairs. I am a fit 74 year old but have a large suitcase for a six week trip including a week’s walking (hiking) in Cornwall.

Great location at the middle of the town. Everything in the town is in walking distance.

There are no parking space in front of the building. There is a loading bay to drop off/ pick up luggages. Paying parking place is about two minutes walk. Plenty of spaces there and it's free for the night and Sunday. Reasonable prices at other times.

Great apartment. Helpful hosts. Good location for the train & bus station so easy to get to places such as Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Had all the facilities I wanted and Louise was very kind when my phone map wasn’t good at finding the location of the apartment.

It wasn’t a problem for me as I didn’t have children with me but if you have young children the stairs between the bedroom and rest of the apartment would worry me.

The apartment is very stylish and well equipped. The bathroom is spacious and the shower area large too. There's no bath, but the shower is great. The kitchen is well equipped and the arrangement of the lounge area coming off the kitchen means having a meal whilst watching TV is easy. Louise met us at the door and was really helpful in explaining the flat and the heating.

Remember the flat is 2 floors up stairs, and the spiral staircase up to the bedroom is a little narrow with the bathroom being downstairs.
