I booked last minute since I did not proceed to Woodstock, Vermont as planned. My car got problems so I stayed in Burlington and booked at My Cousins place which is cheap and practical, I will leave early morning the following day anyway. BUT, it took them almost an hour to give me my access code, so I called the ONLY ONE EMERGENCY NUMBER that they have on all booking platforms BUT no one answered (only voice mail with no response after). I emailed and they just gave the same number to call which was not responsive. When finally, I have my code, IT WAS NOT WORKING FOR THE FRONT DOOR!!! I have to call them again, and what do I expect? No answer! I even talked to the CCTV camera outside the property saying that the code is not working, please help me. It was tooo cold so I just knocked on the door and luckily there was a guest who opened for me. She said she had the same problem so she tried calling too but to no avail---. I showed her my booking confirmation and passport as proof, in which she sent to the same number but to no avail again. So we tried to open my room door and luckily, thank god, the access number worked! However, I went out that night to eat and the other guest has to give me her access code so I can enter the property late at night, since mine was still not working in the evening. The property claim in all their booking platforms that they are a small business and not a hotel so dont expect too much. Yes, I wanted cheap and practical BUT I believe that efficiency and customer service should not be sacrificed. They are cheap because of the very simple accomodation that they offer, its practical yes, BUT come on! Atleast check in your guests in properly! Atleast answer the call! Its cheap compared to others, but $80 is still $80!!! It deserves smooth and efficient check in/customer service.
