Loughview Retreat in the Mournes

Fantastic view; very welcoming, generous and helpful host. Had a wonderful view of the sunset from the picnic table outside our room and also spent a very spent a very enjoyable half hour throwing the ball for Buddy, the dog. The bed was very comfortable. Convenient to Newcastle and some excellent walks. It is definitely somewhere we would stay again.

Not the fault of the property, but we didn’t read the description properly and there is only a kitchenette rather than a full kitchen with oven and hob. We came with a full dinner to cook. However, Maureen provided us with an Air Fryer and the option to use her kitchen.

The views were amazing

I wouldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like, the only thing and maybe we should have brought something with us but we would have loved a bit of music even a radio as we couldn’t find anything on the free view channels

The peace, the views ,the sunset, the friendliness of the hosts.

No hob if you wanted to cook eg breakfast. There is a microwave however and Maureen provided an air fryer 😁 Heating connected to main house , Maureen was happy to put it on when you ask. Also there are radiators in each room to use .
