River View Lodge

the location was nice , the hot tub was good , the lodge was spacious.

only a small amount of cutlery , no chopping board or information pack , but the worst was the people arriving at 8.30 on departure day to empty the hot tub , this is very poor customer service when the check out time is 10 am , if you want people out by 8 am say so because this is effectively what happens , if you were in a hotel the cleaning staff would not be in your room an hour and a half before you checked out , this is just not acceptable and spoilt our stay. Also we could not get a picture on the tv as it kept breaking up.

On arrival we spent over an hour cleaning the lodge as it was very dirty,the decor was poor,i.e doors nd walls,oven filthy so unusable Toilet seat was cracked,replaced next day We believe a pre clean nd inspection was not carried out.

Everything no cons really lodge was lovely and clean very cosy and very warm which is a plus. Hosts sent me a message a few hours before with the key lock safe code which was fab. Hot tub was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

One problem which wasn't much of a issue the snapped toliet seat so couldn't sit on it. Apart from that nothing. Brilliant stay

Lovely lodge, lovely decor, everything you need inside. Hot tub fantastic. Site is lovely and kids had the most amazing time. Crazy horse bar is great for kids and dogs. Would definitely book to go back!!

Absolutely nothing to do with the accommodation but on site shop is barely open (spoke with a few owners), so take everything you need

The whole property is very warm and cozy, the hot tub is excellent for the winter. Easy to get accessed in and the manager always answer and sort out my questions very fast! Highly recommended.

On first impressions the property was as described and we were happy with the accommodation.

A few minor things to report. One of the bedside lights was not working in the main bedroom. The lamppost located right outside the master bedroom. I know you are unable to do anything about the location of the street light however, the curtains in the main room could be a bit thicker or roller blind to block out the light. It did disrupt our sleep. The bed could do with being a little larger. I know caravan space can be restricted but this clearly has the capacity to fit a bed bigger than a small double! The bathroom is very nicely decorated, however when I went to take the shower head out to rinse the base of the shower the whole thing came away from the wall. I’m tall and was able to push it back into the wall but it is definitely something that needs to be fixed with urgency. But it also isn’t something I should have had to have dealt with. My final grumble is the staff who came to clean out the hot tub at 9am. While I appreciate this needs to be done prior to the next guests arriving, surely this is our time in the property. What if we wished to go in for a morning tub before departure. I’m sure me arriving at the property an hr before our designated time to use the hot tub would be frowned upon. So I believe they should not arrive an hour before my departure. Not only the loss of an hr of potentially using the hot tub, the last hr saw the staff send our dog crazy, barking as they emptied it. It also made breakfast rather awkward when they hustled about outside feeling that we were in an escape room to exit the property by 10am. We left by 9:35. I don’t know who that makes the winner.
