The Potting Shed

Very cosy place to stay very peaceful out the way yet very convenient being only 20min from stanstead airport or 45 mins from london. So quiet in the evening with the bbq seeing the deer wander through the field. All the little bits left in the kitchen for us on arrival too was a really nice touch. Lovely homemade bread and delicious fresh eggs.

Location. It was so quiet, it was so nice to sit outside and listen birds. There was option to grill or make little fire to sit outside. Host was lovely, showed what is what and how things work.

Fantastic place to stay . Lovely setting and only 15 mins away from Stansted . The weather topped it off . Kaye was so helpful and friendly

Kaye (the host) was really nice and welcoming. The breakfast was good; simple but wholesome. The location was lovely. It is close to the flight path but I really didn't notice after a bit. Loved the fire pit! The bed was very comfortable and the room cosy with the heater on. Everything was very well thought out. If you're looking for a five-star hotel, this is not for you, but I had a really great time and would definitely visit again.

Nothing of any significance. A microwave would be a useful addition but that's all. I found the directions a bit confusing but that might just have been me!

This is a wonderful place for those that like the outdoor life. Well off the beaten track, in quiet countryside with an area of lawn to yourself. Beautifully converted sheds provide space to sleep, cook and wash. The fire pit was much enjoyed on a cold evening. Lovely fresh eggs supplied for breakfast.

A choice of pillows would have been nice.

Very convenient for Stansted, peaceful and the sun was shining.

This place is magic. I loved my stay. Everything you need. Peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable. Extremely clean, and everything is well thought out and considered to allow an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Wish I could of stayed another night. Excellent hosts. I had travelled down from the north for an interview in Stanstead, Kaye let me stay beyond my check out, this allowed me to prepare a little more for the interview. Which went very well. My advice - give the potting shed a go, you will wish you found this gem earlier, keep an eye out for the barn owl. Bliss.

The Potting Shed completely exceeded my expectations. It is so cute and cosy and I really enjoyed my stay. The owners even left me some little treats like cookies and bacon, which was a lovely additional touch. I was so surprised how spotlessly clean everything was. The shower and toilet were exceptionally clean and the shower was better than most hotel showers I’ve used. The owners really have thought of absolutely everything people would need during their stay. They even provided logs for a fire and a bbq! The 2 cats were so friendly and let me have a little pet of them. The chickens were cute as well and came over to say hello. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and secure there and didn’t have a single issue whilst I was there. I have shown my partner the pictures I took and he wants to come, so I am sure we will book another visit! My only suggestion to anyone thinking of booking is to take a dressing gown or drying robe to walk to and from the shower, and if you get cold easily like I do pack a fleece type blanket just to throw over the duvet for additional warmth.
