SOLID Surf Camp Hostel Nicaragua

Best location, the ocean and the beach are the garden:) Owners and staff were superfriendly, kitchen well-equipped. Finally if ur surfer, the board variety is amazing, they have all kind of surfboards!!! I can only recommend:))

There’s no way to enter the property when you first arrive, which often meant that if the gate was closed, people would have to lug their bags down onto the beach and come in through the beach entrance. You later find out that during your stay you need to pick the gate to unlock it (who needs keys hey?). There’s no front reception either, which makes the whole process even more confusing. Unfriendly head manager who made you feel like being a guest was a burden, and was only friendly to people staying in private rooms (despite 10 individuals filling a dorm room paying significantly more overall, plus often being the ones more likely to extend their stay). That along with a lack of overall signage with hostel policies and instructions etc (which I can tell you is a norm at every other hostel I’ve ever stayed at) helps make you feel unsure about the unwritten ‘rules’ your entire stay (e.g. not being able to use the kitchen for certain times of the day). Cleaning was not up to standard, and the bathroom/toilet always smelled bad and they’d leave it dirty for a few days in a row.

There’s no AC, and although there are fans, the upper beds have to share a fan for 2 beds. And let me tell you it gets HOT. But everything else was AMAZING!

Location is good.

The dorms stink of urine and the whole site smells of stagnant water & grey water. Beds were pretty uncomfortable. Stayed 1 night and left. Booked the 6 bed with air con, arrived and checked in and we were put into a 10 bed with no air con. This room stank of urine and stagnant water. The shower gave gulag vibes. We were eventually put into the correct dorm, unfortunately this also stank of urine. Can't comment on the toilet/shower in this room as I decided to not use it. Not sure how this property has gotten a 9.0 rating...the location is good, but that's it. $20 a night seemed reasonable when booking but upon arrival, soon seemed extortionate.

Un posto meraviglioso tenuto benissimo. La possibilità di noleggiare la tavola con estrema facilità. Gli spazi comuni che affacciavano sul mare da cui vedere un tramonto …i tre bellissimi cani e la cucina ben attrezzata. SUPER

L’unica nota negativa è l’ingresso che è solo dalla spiaggia ogni volta per entrate dovevi fare il giro andare in spiaggia ed entrare quando sarebbe più logico usare il cancello anche come ingresso!!
