I’m happy to give a review of the "Heidarsel" cottage near Akureyri. After a long trip, this was the perfect place for my family of four to stay. The cottage was super clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious, with comfortable beds. The highlight was the spectacular terrace view, where we spent most of our time admiring the scenery and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

I am quite happy to give a review to the "Heidarsel" cottage across the town of Akureyri. Me and my family of 5 came there for 4 nights, i did not have high expectations but wow -it had a mind blowing affect!. The cottage itself was super clean and has obviously been very well maintained. Beds were comfy and someone must really have thought hard on how to make the most out of the space as the cottage felt larger than it is. We were 3 grownups and 2 kids and we were quite happy not feeling overcrowded with the space. Even though the cottage itself was really nice, the best part (by far!) was the terrace with one of the most spectacular views that i have had! We literally used most of our time just sitting there (in spite of the winter cold) with our coffee looking over the town with all of its life -with ship traffic, ski resorts, mountains, etc. It was like looking at a painting and constantly finding new details. The surrounding of the cottage was wonderful and the kids especially loved it. There is a very large yard surrounding the cabin where they could run around and a small water stream passing next to the it where they enjoyed playing. I thought that it would be negative not staying within the town of Akureyri during our stay as it would be time consuming going back and forth for restaurants, grocery stores etc. Fact is that it only took 10 min driving from the cottage until stepping out of the car in the town central. -Not to forget that it took about 4 min driving to the amazing Forest lagoon which i highly recommend! Finally and again -and hard to put into words, the view was amazing and i have to mention that i honestly belief that i have never heard as much beautiful bird singing as from that terrace while being amazed by the view ! Thanks to the owner for giving me the chance to stay with my family - We will be back!

I have given it a hard thought but cant really think of any negative sides, or anything missing that could have made our experience better.
