La Terrazza Su Ortigia Seaview Apartment

The location was ideal for exploring Siracusa and Ortigia by foot and using the interbus and train to get further. The property is spacious and well equipped. The beds and sofa are very comfortable and there is lots of storage space. The host is friendly, greeted us and dealt with any difficulties promptly.

There is no extractor fan in the shower room and no mosquito net to use the window. There is no aircon in the main living area. The beautiful big and comfortable sofa and main bed are faux leather and are peeling/sheading bits which get everywhere.

The roof terrace was wonderful with views over the town and the sea, it was bigger than expected from the photographs. The apartment was very spacious, very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, it is about 10 minutes walk from the old town in one direction, and about 10 minutes walk to the bus and train station in the other direction. Plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby although we mainly ate in the old town. The apartment has a lift as well as stairs

The shower is quite small but it wasn’t a problem.

Excellent location, huge terrace, lot of space and light.

The wrap-around terrace provided us with almost 360 degree views of the city and harbor. The location was great for walking into Ortigia. The place was quite roomy. We appreciated having a washing machine as we had been traveling for a while. The neighborhood near the apartment felt fairly safe and had lots of restaurants and cafes. We had some really good meals nearby. The parking lot, Parcheggio Gelone, was about a 5 minute walk and our car was kept safe there. It was 20 euros per day, but that was what we expected in this location. The host, Lucia, met us at the property and was very sweet and helpful.

We felt like we were the only people in this building. The common areas (entryway, hallways, elevator) were dilapidated or under renovation. There were holes in the ceilings, mold, and peeling paint. The entry way and halls were dark and creepy. We did not like coming and going at night. Also, the kitchen is lacking some basic items. No oven, no toaster, the tea kettle was crusty and unusable, no cereal or yogurt bowls, limited pots and pans. We did not have hot water in the shower twice in 3 days and had to reset it. Fortunately, the hosts left instructions for how to do this.

The apartment was as we expected: comfortable and with a nice view.

Was awesome place! The pictures show exactly how the apartment looks. Beautiful terrace with spectacular views. Within walking distance to Ortigia and other icons in Siracusa.
