Ora Beach Resort

The location is fine for the southern part of El Nido, it is on a beach (that is tidal and not for sunbathing) with nice views and some great restaurants nearby. Everything is pretty new, the WiFi works well and AC is good. Security on the front gate seem attentive.

We booked the day before arriving, specifically because it advertised pool facilities and paid a very expensive price (almost 10,000 PHP a night) compared to all of the surrounding hotels that did not have a pool. . We were just desperate to be able to swim and knew the beach was not really a pleasant swimming beach due to the number of boats and tidal nature. On arrival we were told we could not use the pool for two days (our entire stay) because it had an algae problem and it had been dosed with a very high amount of chlorine. When we said that it was disappointing and we should have been informed when we booked (less than 24hrs ago), therefore could we not check in and simply have a ferund to go elsewhere please. They flatly refused to do this. We asked that if they insist we have to stay, could we have the room discounted to the rate they had advertised on the front desk (5900PHP) they laughed at us and said "no thats only for walkins". We then asked, if that was not possible, could we move room to have a sea view to make up for the fact that we could not use the facilities for our whole stay, and they told us they wouldn't do that either. We could either stay in the room, with no pool access or leave but they wouldn't discount or refund us. They basically has zero customer service or desire to make it a pleasant experience. The manager then proceeded to tell us we should just swim in the pool anyway, which we said seemed unwise and unprofessional so they then just hid the pool maintenence sign that had been up and said "see, it's fine" We were also forced to pay an additional 2000PHP in cash as a deposit and when we left they would not return it until the room "had been inspected". Making us feel very unwelcome and that they were trying to find an excuse to keep additional money. In general, unfriendly and untruthful staff, sterile feeling with no character at all and absolutely NOT worth any sort of premium price.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff that is there in the mornings is really helpful, they booked everything for us – tours, a transfer to Puerto Princesa, a scooter rental – and the price was always fair and the providers were all safe. We were put in a room with the windows leading to a wall, since we paid for a Deluxe room I was expecting natural light. They changed our room immediately and got us a better one without any issue! The location is top notch. You’re in the best place to reach good restaurants, beach clubs, right in front of the beach with the best sunset in El Nido.

The only reason I wouldn’t give it an 8 or 9 is the price to quality ratio. Ora Beach Resort doesn’t have the amenities or service of a resort at all, I’d say it’s expensive for what you get – bear in mind it’s still in soft-opening. The breakfast and the restaurant have poor quality food, which is unacceptable for this price per night in El Nido. The restaurant and breakfast really need to step up.

great location close enough to town yet far enough from the hustle and bustle. The staff in this resort are also great, welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend this resort and would stay again in a heart beat!

we stay 4 days, the 3 nights at 2 am the emergency light turns on, impossible to sleep with that light inside the bedroom, the first day for more than 20 minutes. if you want to use the running machine in the gym : without batteries. You ask for 2 pillows: they bring them without cover. we were sick due to the beef the last 2 days. be careful with the food. lot of potential, it’s a putty the treat of the manager. Due to the noise during all the night, they have to change to another room.

seems like a new place or they reopen, lot of things to do better because the location is excellent…

- great location by the beach, even if Corong Corong is not a nice beach, there are very nice Restaurants and Bars around - good value for Money, similar hotels in El Nido area are more expensive - very helpful staff, even though they seem to be a bit off, but thats normal here 😉

- they forgot to clean our room once but solved it right away
